Hi all were would I get a spare ignition keys.
would it be a main dealer?
laurie.

Any competent key cutter can do them. On many models they need the van there in front of them so they can code the keys.

I had one done for our van. All I wanted was just the key. I did not want it programmed as its one to hide under the van when we are away so as to get us in in the event of a key loss if we are away from the van.

Plain key just cut was £20. To have it coded costs £30 more...

I got spare keys cut at Timpson's for our American rv. I had to buy the keys from America first because they don't stock American but they had all other options. We got ignition, lockers, and door keys done and all work well and good value too.

By the way mine is a 2013 Fiat Ducato
Auto trail with a Sigma alarm fitted.
If it makes any difference.

Who ever does it will need the vehicle to retrieve the code, only the older vans keys can be copied without.

I think clarity would help here .
It seems....

A fully functioning genuine remote which on my keys locks and double locks the cab and the rest of the van independently costs circa 250 from a dealer.

A standard key which has no remote functions but is coded costs circa 50 quid from Timpsons or the like.

A standard key cut but not coded so only of use for opening the doors should cost about 10 to 20 quid. I said above I paid 20 for my one but the wife reminded me it was actually a tenner.

I'm not sure how the keys affect an alarm like Laurieash mentions above.

Mine is a 2012 with the sigma alarm controlled by the remote key. The only option is to have another genuine Fiat remote type key made for about £280 or use a non remote type key and enter the alarm code every time in the door lock. If you have ever tried this, getting it right without setting off the alarm first is almost impossible.

There is a key pad with numbers to tap in but never dare touch.
Just in case I bugger it up.
