Looking for a Weigh Bridge near Kendal Cumbria to check my Autotrail Apache 634L don't mind paying but must have easy access.

I put my postcode in and it gives you your nearest weighbridges and contact numbers.

My local one is at an animal feed manufacturer and just turn up pay £15 and get a printout. Before we moved we used a scrap metal yard.

Used Goodman a few weeks ago and the operator didn't charge me at all as I didn't need a certificate

Nice ride up the A6 or M6 for you. Very easy access, Jenkinsons lorries are a lot bigger than your MH.



Drive into the yard, you can turn round without reversing and back out onto the weigh bridge. Stop on the weighbridge and walk over to the office.
I always tell them I don't need a ticket and they write the weight down on a slip of paper - no charge.
I take a bottle of wine about every other visit.

Found that government website particularly unhelpful - that redirected me to the SurreyCC website, which states that there are no weighbridges in Surrey!!

We use a local builders merchant, who are happy to let us use their weighbridge, for a contribution to their charity box!! I use the mobile to take pictures of the front, rear, and combined axle weights.That gives you a dated record.

Good advice. I agree that the government and local authority sites aren't very helpful. Here in Wigan it looks like there are none. Went for a drive to a metal company in Westhoughton and found two companies next to each other with there own weighbridge. Look for a decent scrap metal dealer, usually charge a tenner.

Usually if there’s a quarry local, it will have a public weighbridge. Ours will weigh private vehicles.

I use the one at Shap (old Granite Works about 1/4 miles South of turn off A6 turn off to J39). It's clean, about 30 yards off the A6. No charge if you don't need a ticket.
