What Do you recommend to use as a water container for inside the van. I'm thinking of something to carry a small amount of water for cups of tea etc when travelling

Used to use a 5lt container with a tap , when that started to leak replaced it with a 10lt one from the local home brewing shop

Sometimes we travel with hot water in a 1.7 litre Thermos (boiled when on EHU) ready to roll as soon as we stop.
Or buy 5 litre water bottles from supermarkets, usually about £1, then just refill when empty.

not long enough
we always set off with 4 x 2 litre bottles of water from supermarket, we don't drink our own tank water and are never sure about the water on site till we get there and make a judgement

this way we always have water, if good enough to use, once first bottle is empty we refill on site, if not we have at least 3 more bottles to go at, we often carry 8 (y)

We have a 20ltr white plastic jerry can, which I fill up, wheel along on shopping trolley, then transfer into the van using a whale 12volt pump and a plastic hose dropped into the J/can.
BUT, its getting a tad heavy for me now, so we've bought a double pannier set-up from Decathalon that goes on my bike. I just have to get a couple of 5ltr plastic cans and put one each side.
Thats the plan anyway.
Mitch.

We always use 5 (or 8) litre bottles from the French supermarkets. We don't drink from the main tank. We usually have one on the go, and a couple in the garage.
We also have a 30 litre white tank with tap which we fill up if we think refilling might be delayed, along with a 25 litre black tank (with a side opening as well as a top opening) which we use if disposal point unreachable.
A 5 litre bottle halved makes a fine funnel (as does a 2 litre one). Had to make one after we found ourselves accidentally on a serviced pitch with a drain we couldn't otherwise use (y)

A Thermos could be used for an immediate supply of hot water.
Wash out a couple of 6pint milk cartons for cold water, or 4pint - whichever fit the space you have best.

We buy a six pack of 1.5L bottles from Lidl. We don't drink tea or coffee, just have it to drink. Oh I also cook rice in it when we have a curry (y)

We use a 5ltr can for drinking water & tea, we don't drink from the MH tank. It lives by the hab door/kitchen and gets strapped in when travelling!

We carry at least 1 5L bottle, after our virgin trip and aires with no water (it was January). We do however fill the bottles at campsites, just not sure how well our used van's water facility was cared for before we got it

Wow. Loads of people seem to have bought motorhomes with no fresh water tank.

We have a couple of 'flatish' 5L containers which fit nicely together in a carry bag but if space is tight, they can easily be slotted in just about anywhere. We also have a 20L collapsible one (the squishy one below) but have found that using the two 5L ones is better as its easier to carry one in each hand rather than a single giant squishy 'jelly-fish'!!!!
