Hi guys, another fridge problem. Over the past couple of days the fridge, an Rm7360 has become less and less cold on gas. I've cleaned the flue and burner, blown out the jet, I've even tried that old tale of standing it upside down. It still works well on hook up. I'm at this moment travelling around France from aire to aire, so not always electric available. Today it won't light on gas so my question is has anyone had a problem with the gas control valve on the top right hand side?
I think I've worked through all other options. I have got gas to the fridge connection point. Looking for your vast wealth of knowledge. I have searched the forum for previous.

Have you renewed the thermal paste behind the fins inside?

Something else going on if it still isn't working with the flue and burner cleaned. Have you had a look through my recent thread on a similar problem?....

I used to run mine on the invertor.
Seemed much better 240v than 12v

If it works well on other power sources it can only be the gas/flame part of the fridge.
Just had the ignition cable on mine break and had to buy complete new burner assembly. Now it really roars on gas, and I thought I was good before

It still sounds like a blocked burner or sooted up flue.

I had read previous posts and I have pushed a bottle brush down the flue, so perfectly clean. Used canned air on the jet and burner. It now appears that the gas valve may not be opening at all now since it won't light. All other gas items are working. I'm fairly convinced its the valve but wondered if others have had this problem.

Thanks for the input so far.

I had a similar problem years back. Gas valve would not open. On extensive investigation by Ian at John's Cross it was found to be a poor electrical connection at the multiway plug. A simple fix but lengthy diagnosis.

That gives me something to check before spending £135 on a valve, and something I can do whilst away.

I think it's something obscure that I'm looking for.

As has been said if it works on hookup but not gas then obviously that's where the problem is.

I had a similar issue and it turned out to be the switch you use to select gas, 240 or 12 volts. If you have one of these try turning from gas to another setting repeatedly for a while. This might just clean the contacts. What was happening with ours was it was lighting but only staying in pilot light mode and not switching to the larger flame needed to cool things. I thought the fault was down to the temperature sensor which I replaced but this made no difference and I eventually found out it was the switch. You should be able to hear a quiet roaring sound from the flame if it is working correctly.

If it won't light because no spark is being generated (no clicking sound) check the battery, which on ours is inside the button you press to light it.

I had the switch problem in the past and replaced last year. There is good spark but no gas. The flame seemed to be low for a day or two, but was not sure but now I'm convinced the gas valve as some bearing on this. I will try and check out the wiring and voltage at the valve as suggested. I'm travelling with my brother so I can get a cold beer from his fridge so no panic.

Sorted, just travel with your brother always. Has he worked out that it's not inflation that's doubled his beer cost yet though.
Maybe hint that he also could use a bigger fridge?
