The Vodafone 100Gb data deal is available on Mobiles.co.uk again for £24.00 month, £14.00 after cashback. The cashback scheme does work, I have just completed a year's contract with them with no issues at all. Very simple.

I have no relationship with the company - it is just a good deal! I have taken out the Vodafone 100gb upgrade contract with mobiles.co.uk for £20.00 /month (with cashback) which is cheaper than Vodafone would give me!

3 are offering a 24 month contract with unlimited data for £22.00 /month with the first 6 months at half price. You will be limited to 19gig per month in Europe though.

And what’s the position on using in Europe?

I’ve a 100GB allowance on EE but discovered, much to my annoyance, that it did not include EU coverage.

I had bloody good service for years with Vodaphone.... Then they 'lost' their mast at my end of town and the only way to get a reliable signal was to hang out a window up stairs !
I switched to EE and to be fair have been happy with the service I have received from them too.
The ONLY provider that treated me and mine like dirt, took £130 out of my bank and would not give it back even though it was admitted it was their cock up ( I did get it after over a year and coming withing 8 minutes of walking in to court ), was Tescos
Their loss in the end..When a BIG family boycotts somewhere the loss of circa £1400 a week in takings at a local shop must be noticed no matter what folk think

We have just returned from 3 months in France, Spain and Portugal. We had our full data allowance for the 3 months. They say they have a fair use of max 2 months abroad in 4 that they may apply but didn’t in our case. We use our sim in a mifi box, just don’t use the mins/text bit. I have to say the vodaphone signal was great for the entire trip, we streamed radio virtually all day every day with only the occasional drop out.

This is a great deal. Do you know if the sim can be activated from abroad? I’m in Spain currently and can get one sent out, but not much use if it cant be activated!

Totally agree with the Vodafone mafia. I started with them in 1986 and was very happy until the greed years started. Been with 3 for several years now and am very happy with there service and coverage to all our world destinations.

Smarty, whe are powered by the 3 network, are offering unlimited data plus calls and texts for £18.75 per month.

£1400 a week?
And that is only a conservative estimate.
I have a BIG family
Four kids, all of whom have grown up kids who are married with 10 kids between the, all of who have FOURTEEN kids between them
Kids and grand kids used to shop at Tescos ( bar one daughter and one grand daughter
Each family with an average weekly spend of £120 adds up to over £1400 weekly ...

Is there a data limit whilst roaming such as Three’s 19gb per month?

IanRJ I don't know but here is their phone number, I have found them very helpful.

You are only allowed less than 10gb to use abroad as i have this sim in my mifi and was told this last year when i asked. They have some calculation that they use which is based on how much it costs per month which is then used to work out what you can use abroad. It is not worth using this abroad but very good for the UK as i can use it to stream whatever i want without going over. It also rolls over for 1 month.

IanRJ found this on the interweb, it is a bit ambiguous!

You can use your whole data allowance while you're there too, except if you take SMARTY's unlimited data plan, which has a limit of 19GB usage while you're abroad (that's a lot for trip).

ShaKen not sure if you got an aswer to your question but with Vodafone you can use your complete allowance abroad.

This is a good read!

Just realised the link I posted is out of dat but the guy does have some good articles. ther is a more up to date article which I will try and find.

Sorry not sure. I'm not a data addict yet.
The answer to my own question regarding Smarty is yes, there is a data limit of 10gb whilst roaming. The only sim that is not limited is VODAFONE.

I have 100gb limit on my EE phone sim, I used about 40 odd gb before my allowance was renewed.

No mention of any limit outside the UK.

This is of course rubbish as I was thinking on the Virgin one that was on offer last year not vodafone, sorry about that.

Checked with EE and they said roaming is limited - if you have more info and a cost for EE I’d appreciate it?
It was a recent upgrade £27 a month, I was paying £20 for 20gb.

This was a better deal, my wife can also use my data when I change to a 'Hot Spot' as well as tethering my laptop.

Though it says £30 I was given a £3 discount.

Great ta, I’ll follow that up too, though the VODAFONE with cashback looks fantastic. Thanks Les.
