Our Via-t toll tag came yesterday and the instructions say stick it in the middle of the windscreen at the top. This isn't possible on our van because the blinds are only 5mm away from the glass when shut.
Does anyone know if the thing will work in the top left corner of the windscreen as there is lots more space there. Don't know what type of windscreen we have but the tomtom receives a signal under it. Peugeot boxer x250.
Thanks, Rich x

I think the idea is it goes behind the dark bit under the rear view mirror (if fitted) so it is shaded from the sun and doesn't get cooked. I suggest just put it on the top of the dash when needed. :)

Ours is the same as yours, just put it near the centre under your blind guide, it wii be fine, if you have a problem at some tolls just take it out and wave it about.

Another question.. There are about 4 toll systems in Portugal, electronic, manual, credit card and err another one. Will the via-t work on every type? Last time I registered a credit card at the border. Will the via-t pick up the gantry sensors or do I still need to register a card?

We found it works well in Portugal - on the overhead gantry type you need to expect a bleep every time you pass under one. On barrier types, we generally go through the non-stopping 30 kph lane.

I had one, stuck under the mirror but the instructions did say you could put it on the dash, or if that didn't work hold it up to the window on passing the tolls.

Ours works on all Portuguese toll roads. No need to register at the border. Usually the tag beeps whenever it picks up a payment point, whether on an overhead gantry or a toll booth, but not always.

When we had a hire car in Spain last year Nick just held it up and it worked fine. I had tried fitting one of the spare clips to a platic sticker as suggested by one of the clever funsters but the clip broke!

Can you just remove the Tag from the mount when you close the blinds(y)
