Looking at replacing the Rapido, but can anyone tell me the published width is that the van or the van plus wing mirror..

Mirrors and bumpers aren't usually included.
Mirrors could add over 2ft to the width.... That would make the van maybe 10ft wide.

Getting a Burstner, then? ;)

Relatively recently, maximum width of light vehicles was increased from 2.3m to 2.55m (2.6m for imported US recreational vehicles). Until then, the higher permitted width only applied to > 3500kg. Pulished widths do not typically include mirrors.

We just headed for a site south of Lyon been driving all day . Width restriction to stop you going over the river bridge had to make alternate arrangements. I have sizes of van on sun visor

No idea but our A class is 2,3 metres body nearly 3 mtrs inc mirrors

Width is usually excluding mirrors but if there is an awning fitted to the side which isn't 'embedded' this will obviously increase it over the stated figure.

Good point.

However it would not affect low-level bollards, so maybe the answer is for drivers to have a profile of the widths showing at each height on the MH.

I would suggest (only) that the majority of coach builds are 2.3M in width. Some newer may be wider after a change in rules in the last few years. I know some newer caravans are being built wider.

“Replacing the Rapido”. Surely not!

Wash your mouth out! Unless of course you’re getting another Rapido.

Beware cheap imitations.;)(y)
