Hi,

Im new to this forum but I hope that someone can give me advice. Does anyone tow a motorhome with a van?
I understand that it is quite possible to get 365 EU cover on a motorhome but what about the car/van which tows the motorhome?
We have just purchased a Ford Transit Double Cab 6 seater on our company hoping that we can get 365 EU cover. Unfortunately we cannot.
One company offered but when I told them that the van is registered on a company then they said they are unable to cover it.
Has anyone here come across this problem?
Thank you!

Why would you want to tow a motorhome and what would you tow it with, trailer, solid bar a frame etc I think there are some restrctions on towing vehicles in the eu. Weight of the motorhome would need to be considered also.

When I had a semi retirement job as a continental courier, I had 365 EU cover on a business polic, albeit a hire and reward poicy. It was through a specialist broker, and was £1000 a year a few years ago.

I dont want to tow anything. Im just struggling to find insurer offering van insurance with 365 EU cover. I found motorhome insurers offering 365 EU cover and this is how I ended up on this forum.
I just hope that someone can point me in the right direction.

ALL insurance is valid throught the EU for 365/year .It just won't be the full comp that you are thinking of but 3rd party or TPf & T . Once you insure it then they cannot Not cover it inthe eu for 3rd party risks.

This applies to many EU countries Poland, Hungary etc.. but not to the UK. In the UK you could get up to 60-90 days EU cover.

I believe that the Caravan and Motorhome Club insurance for cars and motorhomes allows 365 days in Europe but don’t know if they insure normal vans.

I am struggling to understand. A van does not tow a motorhome. A motorhome has its own engine chassis etc so does not need to be towed by anything.

You will have use a vehicle, van or car that has the legal towing capacity if you want to tow a motorhome and your Ford Transit Double Cab 6 seater looks to have a max towing weight of 2800Kg.

Im sorry it's my mistake. I meant towable RV.
