A few days ago our van alarm started going off for no reason at all first night went off at 3am then 5 am thought better leave off not good for neighbours .any one know anywhere near Leeds to get it sorted the vans knocking on might have been on since new it's a sigma alarm.

It should flash a code on the dash light. You should be able to find out what is causing the alarm to sound.

When ours it did this was the internal sensors. (y)

If caused by internal sensor it’s worth a second click after arming which normally disables internal sensors so at least doors etc are alarmed until you can get it sorted.

When ours did it, it was the bonnet contact.
It was fitted pressing against the soft flexible lining panel of the under bonnet. Fiat Ducato.
After a few times of adjusting it (unscrew to make longer), we fitted stuck a piece of solid foam between the lining and the metal bonnet in order to make a more solid point for the alarm contact to press against.

just pray it's not rodents chewing wires

We have a Sigma alarm fitted and have found the silver type screens fitted to the cab windows can easily set the alarm off if any movement. If you have silver screens fitted it maybe worth removing them to see if it stops the problem.

Ours has done it triggered by the internal movement sensors - but these can be disabled.

be VERY careful about turning it off!!

a common trick thieves use is to repeatedly set the alarm off, especially early in the morning, in the hope you will leave it off!

is it going off in the day?

just be wary.......................

I was just going to say the same thing

Its a classic trick ...they come past set it off do it for a few days thinking you will not want complaints from neighbours etc and turn it off.

Next thing Its either broken in to or stolen

@Red Sonja Sonja and Kevin I seem to remember they had problems with their alarm kept going off, and I think it was the battery low voltage and that was a sigma. ;) But them I could be wrong. Bob.

Could be just dirty contacts somewhere, but beware the scroats!

Same happened to my alarm in my fiat At around 3 am too. I left the alarm off. I had an engineer check it Nothing wrong Took it home and it never happened again so not sure why it did it a few times before that. Hasn't 't done it on this new van thankfully

Thanks will try all you suggest .when it went off at 3 am thought we might have unwanted visitors turned alarm off and watched for a while went back to bed again at 5 did same again at 8 .left off .been trying in daytime lasts a few hours then goes off.if nothing works does anyone know anywhere near Leeds who can sort it .having to leave it off at night not a good idea.

We had a sigma alarm with similar problems. I isolated each switch in turn and couldn't find anything wrong.:(

I booked it into Brownhills, who fitted it, and was told that the control board was jiggered and couldn't be replaced. That cost me approx £100 for their time and £30 for the fuel.

I now have a strikeback alarm fitted by @eddievanbitz for approx £600 including a useful Funster discount.(y)

Well did everything you all suggested it lasted from 8 pm to 11 am then it went off .think it's knackered .sso untill we can get a new alarm can anyone suggest something to put over the stearing wheel or pedls even when we get anew alarm it will be extra securety.thanks

A documentary on tv some time ago ... the ex car thief turned good said these were the best deterrant and that he would ignore any vdhicle with one .. in his thieving days.

<Broken link removed>

I had to rip out one poxy car alarm because at night it was triggered by taxi radios when they drove past. Too sensitive to radio interference. Upset the neighbours.

The sigma alarm on our old Swift used to set itself off. I tried to get it fixed but couldn’t, so disconnected it
Not keen on vehicle alarms, especially the ones that beep when you set and unset them, at 11 pm at night, when everyone is relaxed and it’s all quiet......

Well we bought this one and it was to small so had to buy Disclok large size.

Our alarm went off at 0100, reset, went off again 0120, reset, all quiet, but youknow when something isn't right.. I took a torch, quietly went out the back behind the Motorhome and saw a pair of feet from under the rear of the Motorhome, quietly I turned on our garden hose. which has 3 Bar pressure, aimed between the feet and just stood there, one very wet 'Low Life Scrote' appeared, then I doused him again, he swore a bit shouting switch it off, but I aimed at his face then he ran off... No further trouble, but he did leave behind a few 'BluePoint' tools :')
Seems like he was struggling with the Tow Bar, which I spot welded LOL!
