Going away while the tennis and football is on during June, we are going to try using TVPlayer on an Ipad or Android tablet to watch some TV

A couple of questions for an existing user

The TVPlayer App appears to be free, but there is also a paid option. Is it worth the £6.99/month? What am I missing if just using the "free" version?

We are not using a Firestick, just phone or mobile Wifi and TVPlayer App. Is there a way of reducing/limiting the data usage, say by using SD? If so is this a setting in TVPlayer or the tablet device

TIA

Don't know what you mean by TV player app.
We use BBC iplayer and ITV Hub on android device and windows laptop, both free, although there is an advert free version of ITV that costs.
Streaming quality can be adjusted on iplayer, not sure about ITV.

TVPlayer is available to watch via a Browser or as an App

I thought that it has been recommended a few times on here, and was commonly used by people. It links to the likes of IPlayer when playing BBC1
