I have a Victron Blue Solar MPPT 75/15 Charge Controller and the Victron VE.Direct Bluetooth Smart Dongle which both work well, easy Bluetooth connection to my smartphone.
I also have Victron MPPT Control display which can connect to the MPPT charge controller by cable.
The manual clearly states the Bluetooth Dongle cannot be used at the same time as the Control display as they both plug into the same port on the MPPT charge controller.
Has anyone succeeded in getting around this? I am wondering if I could splice a second cable in with the relevant connecter and have a toggle switch which would select the power wire to either the dongle or the display. I assume only the powered unit would then work with the data being transferred In the normal way. I do not believe either the display or the dongle store any data so expect no problem there.
Of course buying a Bluetooth version of the MPPT controller would probably achieve the same but at greater cost.
