enough to know i shouldnt touch things i know nothing about ....

if you find you have some small pieces of string that are not very useful - you can tie them together and you will end up with a long piece of string that might be really useful

This could be a useful thread :D

are you a viz afficionado (have i spelt that right?)

But what if it’s to long.

the answer is quite simple. you can cut the new string to any length shorter than it is. unfortunately you cannot however cut it to be longer.

if you do cut it and have some left over - a useful tip is to tie it to some other pieces of string to make a really useful piece of string

I plan to spend the next couple of weeks working on a Manual to show how to achieve this from your short pieces of string. No, don’t thank me yet.

A piece of string walks into a bar and walks up to the counter.

The bartender says, "Sorry mate, we don't serve pieces of string in here, get lost."

Upset, the piece of string walks out the door. A sudden thought strikes him. He ties himself in a knot and messes his hair up.

He walks back into the bar and approaches the counter. The bartender says, "Oi, aren't you that piece of string from before...?"

"No," says the piece of string, "I'm a frayed knot."

Oh,don’t be so silly...................

You’re just trying to string me along, aren’t you.:D:D

Mind you, thinking about it, don’t know if you could - don’t they say ‘never the twine shall meet’?

if you use a slipknot, then you have a sting of adjustable length

but I don't like string jokes, so get knotted

How long is a piece of string ?

Easy.....

Fold in half.
Measure it.
Multiply by 2 :)

My tip would be to tie the bits of string together at exactly 47' 3'' apart from each other. Tie a brick at the end of the line.

When travelling, throw the brick out of the window and count the knots over 28 seconds. Quickly divide the number of knots by 0.86898 and that will give your approximate miles per hour you are travelling.

Very useful if your speedometer stops working.

Could save you a speeding fine.

What faffing. I would simply throw it away and buy a whole new ball of string  because I'm Rich.

Would you buy imperial or metric string ?
Doesn't matter- it does both jobs
Cheers, Dave(y)
