Chausson Allegro 94
After completely shredding a nearside rear tyre on the A1m last week, a large piece of the plastic wheel arch was broken off. A point of notice hear. The Allegro was not fitted with a spare wheel, just a inflation pump a some kind off sealing gel, which is probably well past its sell date but absolutely of no use in this scenario. Anyway it was while i was looking at how to fix the broken wheelarch that i noticed the whole side of the floor from wheelarch to the front cab door is rotten. Appears to be made off 25mm ply end on. I don't know if this is a strip of ply to hang the plastic panel on or if it is part of the side panel of the van. I do know that.the upper panels are of a polystyrene sandwich construction. Does anyone know if chausson have a construction view of these vans so as to identify what I'm looking at before attempting a repair. Thanks for reading this post.

It's rare to have a construction view of any van. As in the majority these cases its a matter of removing all rotton wood up to the good stuff. Do you have any photo's of the rot you could post here?

I thought all vans had construction views just shows what I know, if buying new I would want to know how and what it’s put together from.

One reason we bought ours was the construction view.

I have a similar Chausson Welcome.
I had wood rot in the floor behind one wheel (I think this was caused by leaking piping under the sink) and the vertical rear panel low down on the back wall , where the rear lights etc are mounted. This also affected the vertical panels on the side at the rear for perhaps 18" or so.
I considered fixing it myself and also got two quotes.
Cannock resprays came in at £10k 😱 (complete removal of bathroom etc.)
Hayes Leisure at £1700.
After picking myself up off the floor I went with Hayes.
They did a really good job.

Mine was picked up on an MOT. It passed as it is not structural to the chassis and rear suspension system.

Thanks for that Jake , sorry for delay in replying i am new to this , still trying to navigate around. I live on the isle of wight and we only have one repair place here, the last time i took my van to them they did untold damage so looks like I'm going to have a go myself. Once again thanks for post.
