Can any bird enthusiasts please recommend the best book to buy as a present for someone who has just got into UK bird watching.
Many thanks. (y)

Can't go wrong with RSBP Handbook of British Birds, if you're really keen become a member and help fund supporting nature.

As suggested by phase3begins the RSPB Guide to British Birds is a good starter.

The Collins Birds Guide is probably the most comprehensive but it covers all of Europe so possibly a bit over the top for UK only. :)

I second the Collins book for bird recognition As there are more and more European birds arriving on our shores.

Also take a look at ‘ where to watch birds in Britain by Simon Harrop,
