I’d ideally like to boost the sound from the avtex tv . Don’t particularly want a sound bar but thinking of positioning a blue tooth speaker at the cab end to provide “surround” sound . I need to fit a Bluetooth transmitter via hdmi .

any suggestions on what to buy ?

Carefull, if speaker not hard wired, you could have a delay, OK when just listening to music but very distracting when watching the TV.

Why not try this.
To tune your radio to receive sound from the AvtexL185TR?

You first need to find a ‘free’ frequency on your radio – say 93Mhz for example. Then on your AVTEX TV go into set up menu and find the tools icon (tabs on left hand side). You will see “FM Transmit” which needs to be set to ‘ON’ and below that “Transmit Frequency” which needs to be adjusted to the same free frequency you previously tuned your radio into… i.e 93Mhz

Yeah various other options for you to consider here but if you do go for a bluetooth speaker I like my JBL. Decent battery on them they seem to last for ages before they need recharged. Clear at loud volume as well.

I have hung a pair of PC speakers under the TV, works a treat.

Just got this for the iPad. Transmits and receives, no delay and works a treat. £5.

I bought a Hi Going Bluetooth 5 tx/rx unit. Have a look on Amazon or similar. Connects via headphone jack or optical out port and sends sound to your Bluetooth speaker. It has special circuitry to reduce any audio delay.
I use it to send sound from TV radio and iPad to my Jabra wireless EarPods.

I know you said you didn’t want a sound bar, but we have the avtex sound bar (all fastened to underneath tv nice and tidy) and the difference is amazing, we wouldn’t watch tv without it now. ?

Having worked in the TV industry for a number of year your need the main sound from the TV to appear to come from the actual TV area otherwise it confuses the brain. Best is just to connected a good quality speaker to the headphone socket as this has no delay.

Lip sync problems where the sound is excessively delayed more than about 100mSec is not ideal

AM transmit not available on all Avtex TVs.

an fm transmitter costs under £10 on ebay and tune cab radio to the frequency to play over the front speakers

I use an Anker Soundcore 2 speaker which connects via bluetooth or headphone socket.
It's small but perfectly formed and the sound is really good. Rechargeable battery that lasts 24hr plus.

You won't get surround sound from a speaker behind you Jewellbags - it will cause confusion as the sound from the front will be muted. I would use a speaker attached with an aux cable to your TV - either your vehicle's speakers via the radio or a portable speaker which can also be used when outside the van.

I wouldn't bother with an FM transmitter - they can be a faff if radio signals are too strong.

Every van we have had I always wire the TV to the head unit. Not had any problems with sound distribution just need to set the sound balance up correctly.

Or I could just get the wife to be quiet for a moment ;-)

Oh there are some dreamers on here, a woman be quiet?::bigsmile:
My other half sits down to a TV programme, yaps through it then asks what's happening!:swear:

Have a ue boom speaker with the aux lead. Can also use the speaker as bluetooth on other devices eg iphone, however bluetooth solutions to tv will give lag. If you get a ue check it has an aux ( some models do) and hold out til black friday when cost is always slashed

I bought a Avtex sound bar and the sound quality was significantly better, and no problems with voice sync.

Would have a soundbar if it fitted but our tv is in a pop up area between kitchen and breakfast area so can not be attached
Will it "pop-down" further than necessary? A slim sound-bar might just need the latch moving.

Just a reminder that Black Friday is not that far away so it’s good to talk at the moment about what’s good sound wise but best to wait for Black Friday to place an order.

We have a Finlux and the sound is great..BUSBY
