Fired up Truma ( old one - C6002) for first time in ages today to check its operation ahead of trip away tomorrow. We haven't used it on gas for ages as we have been on hook up when we have been away recently and so heated water via electric and didn't need heating.
So, turned gas on at bottles, turned control knob to heating and after a few quite big bangs and rattles and a big puff of black smoke at external vent ( side mounted) it switched itself off and red light came on. Tried again and after much wheezing and banging it fired up. This time though, white smoke and dripping water coming from external vent although heating did seem to be working. Turned it off as hadn't seen all this white smoke before.
About an hour later, checked that gas was all ok at the hob and it was. So, turned heating on again and it fired up without all previous noises and now no smoke. Seems to be working just fine.
Any thoughts on what's been happening?
