Just spent.......... (Did not spend as such as in £££`s ..) .. a few hours at Travel Worlds new premises mooching around and drooling .... :inlove:

Beautifully laid out, and I am well impressed... They should do well... (y)

Had a nice mug of Cappuccino... And pee in their spotless loo`s...

Seen a nice "Hymer" we like..... But..... Not going to order till we have sold this place and are on the move...

Don`t want a new one sitting around for months like the one we have ... :frowny:

Had to rush back to welcome our next visitors...

Only down side of the morning................... We bumped into a couple of "Funsters" who were their picking up their new Motorhome... And what a Beaut.... :clap2:(y)
"*astards".. :giggler:

Spoilt a lovely morning really...:rofl:

If you are in the area...... pop in and have a look...

It's a really nice set up, my favourite bit was that the workshops are bigger than the showrooms, very well kitted out too. Just the concrete will have cost gazzillions let alone the buildings.

I'm a sucker for a family company, the dad is still around though he must be almost 80 now. I'm sure he is quite proud. I bought a van from him 15 years ago, boy he was a tough negotiator, no wonder they flourished. I wish them well. They are in a great catchment area, sell everything from pop tops to palaces, so should do all right.

And they sponsored the YearBook this year and last when lots of other companies wouldn't. yy

Customers pay for most things, it most companies business model. Maybe you think that rather than invest their money this way it would better if they charged less and did the servicing in a Marquee?
Would you feel better if they charged you more and had gold plated desks when you handed your money over to them for your expensive motorhome ? Nothing wrong with capitalism , I was just remarking on the comment that they had lovely toilets and amazing showroom , you paid for it , so its hardly a gift to you from them is it :)

Of course not, But I'm not moaning that they have invested in their business. It's what businesses do. And guess where the money comes from

But surely they are no longer a family run business? Are they not Erwin Hymer owned? He who pays the bills call the tune....

The family that used to run it are probably paid employees....

Is it better than the Campirama premises that I visited in Belgium? I was quite impressed and the old man himself showed me around. They are not that dear either.

When I was 28 I was very lucky and with my wife Lyn we bought a brand new motorhome. We have three small children at the time, known to some now as @AshVanBitz @Simon Howards Motorhomes @JamesJohnsCross

We quickly decided that we wanted/needed a bigger motorhome and ordered a Gulf Stream motorhome 2772 (I think) on A Ford V8 7.2 Diesel From Bob Edwards,

The first new van we had ordered, the first van being a stock van from Plymouth Motorhomes a Talbot based Autohomes Highwayman

Glad to see Travelworld continuing going from strength to strength, family owned, employing people, paying tax, collecting tax and being a asset to the motorhome community and the Country

Well done the Edwards family

May it long continue

We are newbies. Bought our first and only Motorhome from Travel World last year. We are still on a steep learning curve, despite all our research beforehand. Happy to say that the team at Travel World have really looked after us well and helped when we’ve needed.

Went this week to the new premises this week for a few minor warranty matters. Chatting to some of the Edwards family, they told me Mr Edwards was a very proud man at the opening. We wish them every success.

I do hope the Edwards family continue to run and control their business and maintain the standards and customer service they have been renowned for.

Let’s hope Erwin Hymer let them.

I have nothing but very bad experiences with Traveleorld.

Mrs. TM said she would never buy from them. I would never say never.

I don't get why people are praising Travelworld so much - I must be missing something here.

We looked at buying a larger van last year and in the mix was the twin axle Frankia and the same In N&B guise but, after a series of negative vibes about Travelworld we decided to avoid them and we concentrated on SMC instead.

Our first encounter:

Traveleorld offered £30,000 trade in on a European Eura Mobil for an American RV (new).

When we returned the following month, they lowered the offer to just £15,000 stating “we don’t deal in European motorhomes, we are American RV specialists. You would have to sell privately and come back to us”. Deal fell through as we could not sell and their RV Sold.

2nd.

The then new Fleetwood pulse arrived a fe years later. The price quoted (which I still have in writing was £65,000 otr brand new).

We sold our motorhome privately in readiness for the impending arrival of the pulse. When they arrived, asking price was now close to £80,000.

Final try:

We had then purchased something else, still hankered after a pulse/icon.

A used pulse came up at Traveleorld. Reasonable price, the owner trading it to them at £15,000 less than Traveleorld’s asking price. I had missed the private ad.

So we went down to see the pulse at Travelworld. They did not want our 6 years old MERCEDES Frankia, despite them now specialising in European vans.

So, we said we would go home and think about it and call the next day. We rang the next day to pay a deposit. 5 days and around 10 telephone calls later, we were told it had sold, but only yesterday. 4 days after we rang to pay a deposit.
