And finally ..... well may be! ;)

Those of us who had the pleasure of listening to the live music on the Saturday afternoon may remember the awful crackling for a short while when Geraldine cliffandger was playing. I identified at the time that it was a dodgy lead, but only today have been able to investigate further. The lead was sold a professionally built by a reputable company, but having dismantled the XLR connectors at both ends and being horrified by the poor workmanship, I have remade both connectors as there were loose strands of wire floating around in mid air at both ends, and the cleats to hold the cable was not closed at one end. Clearly one of these was touching the screen as the cable moved causing the awful row.

My apologies to Geraldine, the other musicians, and anyone who had their hearing assaulted for buying expensive cables. I have checked the other three from the same source which are all fine. I would have been shot for that sort of work when I was trained and working in electronics.
