Just over a year ago we bought our first, but second hand, motorhome with the idea of touring Europe.

We have made some small changes to the vehicle, such as tyres, BT battery monitor and not forgetting the charge controller, all small beer.

Anyways, we have just returned from our first 50+ nights in France and the top of Spain. The forum and it's many helpful members really helped give us the confidence we needed.

We had nothing booked for the trip aside from Casa Julian in Tolosa (if you like steak, go there) and a campsite for a few nights before we returned. Nothing let us down, everywhere was just wonderful. We are doing something similar next year. So, if you are pondering about touring in France/Spain, don't ponder, just do it.

Even when we were touring, the forum was an invaluable source of help. So, thank you all!

So pleased you had a great first time across the Channel. Europe, especially France ,is motorhome heaven. (y) :giggle:

Have to say, meals I've had cooked on a coal grill, have been fab. But there again I've not had very many!! Used to be a place in Smethwick - the Waterloo - complete with Victorian wall and floor tiles - always fully booked and businessmen from Brum and Wolverhampton flocked in to entertain their clients there and a place called the Black Cat in Bruges we were recommended to and ate at.

The menu does have a choice of starter and dessert. But the mains is a choice of weight, oh, and if you want the roasted peppers (y) or not. We had the one steak (1.3kg) between the two of us.
