Does anyone have, or know of a method to restore the rigidity.
I have seen a few suggestions but so far none seem effective.
Perhaps some spray on lacquer although this could present its own problems. I would be interested to know how it's produced. Heat? Plasticisers?
Perhaps a hot iron?
If anyone has a solution, I and many others would appreciate it.

Mine does the same on my large Rooflight. I have considered drilling a very small hole each end of the frame and stretching a very thin plastic fishing line between them for the mesh to sit on when drawn I thin that’s a cure and will. E almost invisible. I haven’t done it yet but will get around to it in the near future.

I have the same issue on my larger roof opening. I believe you can buy a replacement cartridge with new screen and mesh. I will not bother as my mesh screen is still doing the job it's supposed to do.

Well that`s our 13th year & still loving it.
You could try leaving it closed up for a while that might tighten all the pleats up.

This was raised on here a few weeks ago. Consensus of opinion was using a spray bottle with plain water on the open screen, then closing for a few days.
Not sure if it worked or not.

I did this a few weeks ago and it seems to have restored the screen to it's former glory. Gave the screen a good hoover both sides before using the water spray technique.

Spray some dissolved viagra tablets on, should make it stiff, will last a long time too, (so I've heard).......

If this works, it looks like the answer I was looking for, thanks.

I do not know how it could be applied but guess that some form of heat to vitalise the creases may have been used during manufacture, as the material has the feel of being plasticised.
