Not sure if this has been posted before .
As of June 14th points redemption will be reduced to 2 times the value , instead of 3. Times .
So if you need to use your points for travel , boats & tunnel etc make sure you use them well before june

It's still effectively free money. We tend to shop on Tesco credit card for the points and settle up when the bill comes in. Similar with utility bills

yes, it has been posted BUT that doesnt mean everyone will have seen it the first/second time around !

nothing wrong with duplicate posts !

I work for said company and am going to be bumping this thread regularly over the next couple of weeks, so please excuse me.

This is the score.... after 14th of this month (June 2023) you will only get 2x your vouchers when using them for Eurotunnel (or any other retailer).

However.... and this is the important bit...

If you convert before the 14th June you still get 3x value and they last for 12 months..., then, if you use those vouchers to book a crossing in 11 months time your booking can be changed up to 12 months later....

So, to be clear, I can convert £100 of Tesco vouchers before 14/06/2023 to Eurotunnel vouchers and I will get £300 to spend within 12 months. I can then use my Eurotunnel vouchers, for instance, on the 13/06/2024 to book a crossing as for forward as possible with Eurotunnel. Eurotunnel will then allow me to change my booking for up to 12 months later (for a small fee) so in theory You can extend your 3x vouchers to 12/06/2025...

Really hope this makes sense.

Cheers

Terry, I waited until I got my latest Tesco Clubcard Statement last week, and then booked our Tunnel crossing for the end of August!

Even at 2x though, it’s still a better deal than most other supermarket loyalty cards.

Yes I agree, but I am trying to save people money 💰 that have Tesco points on their Club Card...

There are probably members of this forum, like us, that have £350, or more, in vouchers available.

That equates to £1050 in vouchers, up until the 14th of this month when Tesco have decided that they'll be worth £700.

It only costs us around £300 return each trip, so if there are members out there that have the points that want to maximise their return then that's what this is about.

Well worked out Red. We used to get our tunnel crossing free of charge, but over the years we have had to pay a little towards the charge every time.

It’s still a buzz though to get the crossing reduced by a substantial amount.

I’ve never had so much of a discount from other supermarket loyalty cards.

Had already used most of mine but changed up what I had left yesterday for ferry voucher so should at least pay for a one way ticket!

Some info on my earlier post about how to convert points to coupons.

Exactly, great advice. We have vouchers for two further crossings which should cover next year.

Best not to exchange at too a a value though as I dont believe eurotunnel give you any credit for using vouchers that are higher in value than the ticket cost.

Yep, good point, so I'm exchanging £95 on three different occasions(before the 14th of this month) which will give me 3 x £285 voucher codes.

We've used one to book a crossing this September.

The codes are valid for 12 months, so I'll use another around April 2024 time to book another crossing in June 2024.

Then in May 2024 I'll use the last lot to book a crossing as far forward as possible, I would imagine June 2025 will be available by then, if not I can change the booking up to 18 months forward from the date the booking is made, which will allow us to move it to September if needed.

If prices go up we can just top up with cash.

Hey, have you read about the Tesco points system changing? 🙃

They won't refund any over payment with vouchers and some operators have a limit on how much you can use, eg P&O allow a max of £105 of partner reward vouchers per single crossing (which is 3 x £35 worth of Tesco face value vouchers), other operators may allow less especially true for some Ireland ferry crossings.

Also you need to read the full t&C's as they can differ as some will only allow one code per crossing such as Eurotunnel who only permitted them to be used on an outward or return bookings (ie outward & inward booked at the same time). You can't book a single inward crossing with ET but with P&O you can.

Just a Bump!

Had this from Tesco, confirming the voucher code is valid for 12 months, then the subsequent booking is valid for 18 months from the date of purchase !

Vouchers are worth up to 3x their value until 13 June 2023

Right now, you can exchange your Clubcard vouchers for up to 3x their value with our Reward Partners. From 14 June, this will change to 2x their value*. If you exchange any vouchers for Reward Partner codes before 14 June, your codes will be valid for 12 months instead of 6, to give you more time to use them.

Even if you have £20 in points right now it's worth converting them to a voucher for future use....

Not sure on the ferry, but 1 point = 1 pence then multiply it by 3...

Check your ferry cost then convert your points to suit...

The eurotunnel tesco vouchers are valid for 12 months, so effectively you could book a tunnel crossing 23+ months from receiving them and then change the travel date once you have a confirmed booking.,(which maybe subject to a eurotunnel fee.)

As has been highlighted..

Do Not convert ALL your points into one voucher!

Work out approx how much you spend on a crossing divide it by 3 and convert that amount multiple times...

Cheers
Red.

I converted our vouchers into two Eurotunnel vouchers at the end of May. I also converted the bulk of our points at the time to a fast voucher and added them to the second voucher trade up 👍

As we are now away we won't get many more points this month.

How many points are needed for a ferry crossing then?
Not sure, but I had £185 worth of Clubcard vouchers. Cashed them in and got return crossings Harwich to Hook in Sept (Overnight out and Daytime back), both with Comfort class cabins. I added £35 to pay for one of the cabins as I wanted a Eurotunnel voucher as well. ET voucher is valued at £135.

Just saw this on the t&c's ........... So multiple vouchers may go unused??????

What you need to know
You must book 24 hours before travel if booking online and 4 days before you travel if booking by phone.

Only one Reward Partner code can be used per booking.

Partner codes can be used for single or return journeys originating from Folkestone only. Codes can't be used for trips originating from Calais.

Codes can only be used for Standard tickets, they can't be used to book Standard Refundable or Flexiplus tickets or used on any other LeShuttle products (including the carriage of pets, insurance products and accommodation products) or used in conjunction with any other offer or discount.

Codes can be used with a Credit Voucher issued by LeShuttle

Can you use more than 1 voucher on a ET booking?

Can you use more than 1 voucher on a ET booking?
NO...!

That's why you need to work out how much it costs you to travel each time...

Then you can convert slightly less in vouchers...

Remember, Tesco vouchers don't cover Pet Transport!

Just changed mine.

Had £105 worth so glad I was reminded.

The tunnel cost us £450 last Easter with the 2 dogs so this is a welcome addition. 👍
