Getting there!
Can anyone recommend some good tempered glass crockery similar to Corelle please.

I have seen the plain white ikea but not keen for the same reason as the corelle, dinner plates are too small.

Looking for something 27/28cm preferably.

Will need side plates and bowls to match.

can't help sorry but we have the Ikea stuff and its great and cheap!!!! Maybe eat less!!!!

It’s more for food distribution on the plate, I hate food on top of food and that’s without portion being too large.

Dish up smaller portions and then go back for 2nds if you need more! Think the cheapie Ikea ones are brilliant.

have a side dish for your chips etc

Corelle & Ikea version are the ones that seem to be recommended most of the time - we got some Corelle at a bargain price & it's really good.

We have a set of corelle which we really like plus a couple of deeper bowls from Ikea which are great for pasta. We struggled to find a set of corelle with small enough plates, however much do you eat? The square plates in particular were enormous. Actually thats very rude of me so sorry, it's none of my business!

This is the sort breakfast we have when we go away (not every day)

All joking aside I would have a look at the squarish corelle range as they really are big and the tea plate is more the size of a dessert plate and the bowl is bigger so might suit you better. If you're not too fussy about the patter amazon often seem to have previous years ranges on offer. That's how we got ours. The mugs are always chunky pottery ones as they claim they can't make them out of the tempered glass which is rubbish really as I have a really old one with Asterix the gaul on from my school exchange trip when I was 16. Of course I am only 21 so that's only 5 years.

We take normal mugs so that’s not an issue, I’ll have a look at the square plates but would prefer standard round.

Another vote for the Ikea crockery.

So it turns out Corelle now do a 28cm plate, and have done a 27cm for a while. When I first looked they were coming up as 25/26cm.

Still might go for the ikea 26cm and save a few quid.

The ones in my breakfast pictures are 28cm

I'm sure you could manage to get your breakfast on one of the Ikea plates. You might have to overlap the bacon rashers a bit but other than that everything would fit! We eat a similar type of breakfast quite regularly when away in the UK!

We use Arcopal available at the Range and other outlets, not quite asdurable as the corelle though.

Do the Corelle type plates rattle when you're driving, I don't want to have to wrap every single item for travelling ?

Didn't know Ikea did breakfasts

Ours are Corelle (dinner plate is 25cm) we’ve had them for nearly 9 years now and they still look like new!

We don't wrap any of the plates, bowls etc. Had our Ikea ones for a couple of years now and haven't had any of it break.

After years of use we decided to replace the melamine set, although nothing wrong with them.
Looked at the luminarque in the Range but eventually found ourselves in IKEA and also plumped for these. Impressed by price and quality.

I have used ours a few times now and they are really good. I store them with a sheet of kitchen roll between each to keep them quiet on the move.
