I could always take it or leave it but now I just have to watch. I am not sure what I am watching for, I just have to check if the world has changed. Why?

Yes agreed, we do need a clear thinking National leader. Boris has certainly lost that and now influenced by his new Instagram eco warrior evangelist wife he will sacrifice the UK's energy autonomy to place himself as high as possible up the International Green Altar scoreboard.Is it GB News? Me too
I had a news addiction until Jim recently posted that he has stopped listening or watching daily news broadcasts. He said that it has made little difference to his awareness. Well I have totally switched off to radio and TV news and it has been like lifting a weight off of my life. Nothing really changes whatever or however LBC Sky or the BBC present it. Well done Jim

I haven't watched the news for well over a year now. Hubby reads it online but doesn't share anything as he knows I'm not interested. News just isn't 'news' any more. Most of it is peoples' opinions or what 'might' or 'could' happen. I found I was hearing and seeing things that had little or no impact on my day to day life and that, in reality, I could do nothing about. It meant I was wasting my emotions on nonsense (to me). It sounds strange but I feel more 'free' now that I don't have the 'burden' of 'news'

I agree about the BBC. If I look at Al Jazeera news for example I see what is happening in the whole world, not just UK and American politics. I think Buttons and Jim could be right. I can do nothing about anything really.

Like some other folk we haven't watched the TV news for about a year, don't think we've missed anything but have gained over two hours a day.

I think that they notice Boris bashing a bit more often when he does stupid things like having parties during lockdown. I'm guessing there would be fewer complaints about the reports if more folk stuck their heads in the sand or he didn't do stupid things.didn’t they do the same to Corbin….so I guess that’s balanced news

You try the say as you call stupid things and see how long the Police take to investigate and issue fix penalty or refer to the CPS.
In my view all news in one way or another is mere propaganda.
Takes a great deal of research to validate or expose the lies.
Few have that time or inclination,which is what the information peddlers rely on.
Adolf Hitler in Mien Kampf said, if you tell a lie make it a big one, then repeat it often, eventually they will believe it and your enemies will fade away.
Not an exact translation but close enough.
Investigation journalists have all be been sidelined or silenced, can we not see the parallels in history!
