Since Adam and Eve built one !
Just bought a set of silver screens and noticed that at both ends there is an option to insert a 6mm bead into a short section of awning rail.
Does anyone use it or just the over door corner and through the window fixing?
cheers

With the OEM screens you fit an awning channel on the driver's door along the top of & down the back of the window and similar on the passenger window and the screen slides into it.

Thanks for responding but does anyone think its necessary or use the method as I described.
I know the OEM principle but wondered if anyone considered the fitting of additional awning rail pieces necessary? Not everyone purchases Hymers new so there are other options.

If I had the option I would use that method of fixing. I think it would better than in the sliding window and over the door style of fixing

I had OEM ones on my last Hymer it's a far better fixing method, I must admit I only bought the Hymer screens because they were cheaper than the after market ones.
Not bothered with any on the current van as it has the insulated aluminum front blind & heating vents between the screen & blind.
