I'm arriving Santander Sat 31Oct app 18.00, does anyone know of a stopover, up to an hour away heading towards Logrono, stopover only ( service area etc not campsite )

There is a good aire at Lierganes. It is at the station but the trains are quiet (electric narrow gauge) and don't run at night. CamperContact. #6015. The Medieval bridge with the Fish-Man statue beneath it is worth a look.

I am coming off that ferry and i normally stop at Lierganes. Its a nice little stop with good coffee and cake shops😅.but this year heading via Burgos ,soria and sorgrebe enroute to Los Alcazares,so will stop at aire in Aquilar de campo about an hour from Santander. Have a good n safe trip.
Cheers Cris.

We always use the elephant Aire at Cabarceno as well, lovely area nice village small shop bars and restaurants.Plus the elephant park and cable cars if you fancy it.

Hi Ken,trust you are well?
Best stopover is at Cabarceno, the elephant park,as lots advise above. Plenty of space, water and dump.and it's free.
Cafe and restaurant in the village a few mins walk.
Have a good trip. (y)

Another vote for Cabarceno we always use it, safe, quiet, fw and toilet dump, shop selling essential including fresh bread a few minutes walk, and some great bar restaurants

Hi Ken just keep us informed how you get on travelling down here with all the restrictions en route through Spain. See you when you get here.

The heffalump park is lovely but has no loos (as far as I remember) - We've used area de Autocaravanas Suesa - Suesa, Cantabria, Cantabria, Spain, 39160 - twice. Around 20 minutes from ferry, secure, has loos and some great beach walks nearby.

Why do you need a loo when you have one on board? There is an elsan dump point and fresh water on the "elephant park".

That is true, but unless its changed recently it's a bugger to use either. Much more civilised at the Calle Marino Fernández-Fontecha :winky:.

Hi Graham, will do, everything is unreal, surreal or what so fecking ever at the moment 🙄😳🙄😳🙄 and the latest is storms in the Bay of Biscay, ferry may be cancelled or sail with a great puking potential that'll be a great choice hahahaha 👍

Sat at portsmouth now for ferry tomoz will go straight to lierganes on arrival and spend a couple of days trying to sus things out .Looks like i will have to hide out in the frozen north for a bit untill movement is allowed before heading for the east coast,or it may end up a ferry back home ,who knows??
best of luck to fellow travellers.
Cheers Cris.

Hi Pugsy,
Lierganes is a good stop. Do you enjoy running? Great run up the mountainside with brilliant views.
If not, great town for a stopover. Locals are really friendly. Enjoy
