As per the Headline.

We are about to get a spare wheel and I wish to secure it vertically against the front wall of the Garage,
(Burstner Aviano)

Has anyone got any suggestions as to how or what would perform that function.
The bottom of the wall where it adjoins the floor does have anchor points on a running rail.

Over to you, All suggestions gratefully received.

Is it a standard rail that takes zebs? If so you can lock some M10 rod into it.

Zebs? Sorry?

Found this when I put Zebs into Google Couldn't copy the photo.

Olympic Fixings M10 Short Spring Channel Nut BZP (Sold in 1's)

I take it they slide into the channel and the M10 screws into the thread in the middle of the block of metal.

Am I close?

Spot on. You can use a 50mm square plate washer and nut on the rod to lock them in place. I usually buy them springless so you can slide them about easily to where you want them.

Sorry to be viscous, I now understand how I could put those 'Zebs' into the rail
but how does that hold the 30kgs of wheel and tyre on the wall above it.

As said, the running rail is at the junction of floor and wall.

And thanks in advance for your patience.

What about bending some M10 rod into a big hook to go through the middle of the wheel and then down into the channel? If you want it higher up you'd have to make some kind of right angle bracket that fastens down.

If you can fix to the wall you could just bolt a small piece of 21x41 unistrut through the middle of the wheel to clamp it back.

I had my spare wheel secured to the garage wall..the weight was taken on the shelf/ floor(which is already cut away in the attached photo ) and I just made up a fitting on the wall to keep it in place..the rim profile fitted over it and a piece of threaded rod secured the wheel in position
Ill attach a photo but as you can see I decided to move it to a cavity I created in the floor of the garage..I removed the fitting on the wall to fit some supports I needed in the garage..

Get the wife to put it in her handbag. Nothing gets into my wife’s handbag ☹️

My solution.
50 x 20mm timber that touches top and bottom of the tyre. 10mm screwed rod with an home made nut.
It only needs to keep the wheel upright - all the weight is on the floor.
The wheel chock are only stored there, they serve no purpose

Google is your friend, there are hundreds of wheel holders out there used by many of the major manufacturers

This will take a lot of beating looks perfect to me 👍🏼

I’m doing the exact thing just now on my 3 week old van , being a plumber I used these , the 2 bolts go through into a cupboard to 1 large plastic washer , I also use wheel chalks like Stealaway has pictured to stop right to left movement

Mine is strapped to the wall using D rings and a ratchet same as above. The weight is taken by the shelf or floor it sits on and there is so much in my garage that the tyre couldn't fall over even if it wanted to. The straps just stop it falling over if I remove the scooter. Also gives me spaces behind the straps to store other bits securely

Munsen ring backplates, cheaper and better quality

Well, that's a month gone by.
I thought I would post my eventual attempt to put the spare wheel up against a wall, rather than have it occupying all the floor.
Note, because the strap is one piece I have noticed that one the diagonals isn't as tight as the other, (friction).
At the first chance I get to take the van out, I'll take the opportunity of tightening it up because, no doubt there will be some initial movement.

Looks like a strapping good job to me. Hitting a few sleeping PoliceTeam will loosen the strap👍🏼

Just for info. The tyre is sat on a plank 5" in width and a thick inch deep.
To that plank I have bolted two redundant wheel chocks so that the tyre is sat in a cradle, so to speak.

I saw that the plank will be handy for levelling the van if required or parked on a slope. Multiple use bit of kit👍🏼

I've got two girt big 2" planks for that purpose and one of them can accommodate a drive up ramp should it become necessary.

Update on the above.
The Mk2 has been installed. I've taken advice and turned the wheel around (to be able to check pressure) even though doing that incurred an extra cost of £1.40 for the vine eye threaded rod. (ouch! ) that was welded onto the Mondeo wheel securing bolt.
The 'red' disc is a cut down redundant chopping board. This was needed because the Mondeo part was about the same diameter as the hole in the middle of the wheel.

The disc on the wall is stuck on with "Sticks like sh*t" (that's its name) and there is the same stuff between the two discs, augmented with a pair of screws, front and back.
The rod screws into a suitable 4 pronged t bolt and the rod is prevented from screwing into the larger disc by virtue of a recessed coin (Aussie 10 cent coin) placed there for that purpose.

I’ve got me wheel similar system but just bolted through the bulkhead , also the wheel is around the opposite way so I could use the additional storage space , wheel trim to Finnish it off 😁
