Hi all.

I thought I had better start my own thread, after I’ve hopped along on DavidG58 ‘s thread for the last week!

We enjoyed our time on the Mosel, but have now travelled south to find the sun.

We’re now sitting on our favourite site (Les Mures) having bagged the last 8m pitch! We aren’t moving for a week!

We’ve set up camp, a load of washing has been done and I’m just about to have a shower before going to the camp restaurant to eat.

The family opposite have just come back from a day on the beach, and I’m REALLY hoping the two babies are screaming because they’re over tired .... granny, grandad, aunt and uncle are having to talk REALLY loudly to be heard over the bawling babies ..... and Mum and dad are obviously immune to the sensory overload .... :Eeek:

Right then yodeli Frankie (and Jimbohorlicks). I’ve scratched Case 1 and I’ve got this ....

a) what does Perdu mean, and
B) what do I do now .....

Is everyone as excited as me? :pray2:

As Delboy would say ‘This time next year ....’ (or even tomorrow ) ...

cliffandger ...Informative and Funny!
Will read it tomorrow . I should be sleeping by now! It's going to be hard time when the clock will yell "wake up!!"

yodeli Frankie, I went to the website, and it wants all my information, plus the ins and outs of a cat’s backside - so I’ve had to forego any chance we had of ever becoming millionaires.

I hope you’ll understand, and still continue to be my official translator/ weird French custom explainer/ best friend of Ukulele hater JJ / all round brilliant Funster ..... :france::notworthy2:

We are still in Des Mures, and have spent a brilliant couple of days in Phil Taran_Las company. His cooking skills are legendary and his taste in French Red are none too shabby neither.

He leaves us tomorrow for destinations unknown. We hope his knees have recovered from the bashing they’ve had - we cycled into Ste Maxine yesterday and St Tropez today.

The town quay was strangely empty of humongous motor yachts - apparently they are shunning St Tropez because of the exhorbitant harbour fees, and are instead frequenting cheaper ports in Spain and Italy.

Well you’ve got to prioritise haven’t you - and Botox should always be higher up the list than berthing fees ...

Yesterday it was scorchio, so after saying ‘Au Revoire’ to Phil we headed down to the beach.

That’s what you call a Fun smiley! ;by the way - the fat hammer toed foot is NOT mine ...)

First time I’ve seen anyone dressed like that (human or mannequin) without a uke in their hands!

The sun is out this morning, so we’re cycling into Ste Maxime, and then heading down to the beach - it’s tough holiday this one .....

No religious relics this trip Anthea M - not yet anyway ...

I’m sure you will find some!!

Nice selfie, Geraldine. :imoutahere:

:rofl::rofl:
Jim - I have the outfit, but having shorter hair, ‘different’ shape boobs, flabbier arms, much thicker waist, it’s no wonder I never wear it.....

Infact i’m not sure it’s a female mannequin at all ... :roflmto:

Well, we cycled into Ste Maxine today and guess what Taran_Las ....

We found the Post Office.....

Of course as yodeli will tell you...

It’s Monday in France. So it’s Closed. But it gives you poor Funsters in Brexit Land the chance to see the colour of the sky !

We went into the church Anthea M ..

Beautiful - plain, white, simple but unfortunately no relics.

We walked past the boats Techno Andy - a rubbish photo - but have you been spending money en France?

It’s much bigger than it looks from the stern, with lots of techy bits in the wheelhouse.... a jetski, and it even has a bike for Jacs - so as usual, you’ve thought of everything Andy!

I stopped off at reception on the way back from the beach and told Andy on the desk that we want to spend another week here after our checkout day on Wednesday, so now leaving on the 9th. He asked us when was our ferry day and we said the tunnel on the 15th. He was surprised we were leaving as early as that, when it would only take us 2 days to get back up - infact he was surprised we were going back at all! I have to agree - but he’s been here for approx 30 years and only went home when his mother died a few years ago...

Well the shower’s calling - hot pot ;or should I say Bueof Burgynoygnie (no let’s stick with hotpot with red wine) is in the oven and the footie is on catch up later on, so we’ll say ‘Au Revoire until tomorrow ma petite Funster Amis!

Too late I found one in Digne les Bains:unsure:. And its got the same colour sky too :D2

Hope you both have a fantastic time in the sun(y)

Lovely couple of days here on the Côte d’Azur, but we’ve upset our neighbours - more of that later .....

We’ve been on the beach every day and have cycled in to St Tropez and Ste Maxine alternately.

DavidG58 - please tell Bev that we found our first geocache yesterday!

I downloaded an app which told me there was a cache in Port Grimaud - and without too much trouble (and a ‘hint’) we found it in the public gardens! I may be hooked ........

Ste Maxime has a vintage festival on this weekend, so we wandered around the quay, looking at vintage clothes, bric a brac, and these ....

Now I know you’ve all skipped my lovely photos and gone straight down to this bit ....

Yes we upset our neighbours. As Taran_Las knows our van was pitched in more or less permanent shade, so when the pitch next door became vacant this morning, we moved next door with the van in the opposite direction.

Brilliant - full sun. That will do us until we leave next Wednesday.

Now we’ve always said hello as we walked past our German next door but one neighbours, and they’ve always said hello back.

They were out when we moved the van, but they came back an hour ago.

‘You have moved your camping car’

‘Yes, we were fed up of being in total shade, so we moved to get some sun’

‘But you are pitched too close ‘

‘No, we are well within our pitch - infact the van is right up against the pitch marker’

‘Yes, but you face towards us - we can look into your van, and you can look into ours’.

‘I have no wish to look into your van’

‘You understand what I mean - you are too close - you are invading our space’.

Now I could have done a Basil Fawlty there but with GREAT restraint I kept my mouth shut ...

‘For three days we have suffered with a French couple doing the same thing - but because I have no French I could not tell them. I can speak a little English so I can tell you’

‘Tell us what?’

‘That you are being inconsiderate, parking like this. We cannot enjoy our space with you there’

Now I could have said ‘the feelings mutual mein Frau, but it took us an hour to up sticks and move, so we ain’t going nowhere - if you want to move feel free’, but I didn’t.

I could have said ‘lucky French campers’ but I didn’t.

I could have asked ‘would you have been saying the same if a fellow countryman had parked up next to you?’ But I didn’t.

We ignored her ranting, and in the end her husband shouted from the van ‘Bitte BITTE!!!!’

We are over an hour on and they have not stopped talking - correction - she hadn’t stopped talking.....

They really don’t help themselves do they .....

I’m thinking of getting the Uke out tonight, that should put her in a Bitte, I mean better frame of mind ....

Not sure I could get my leg over that machine cliffandger . :D2 Not without help from that great big block.

Are those the neighbours I was parked up next to?

ps - I'm at the Dijon Prenois circuit and I've had to put on long trousers. Boy is it cold and wet here. Despite trying your hardest to start world war three;) consider delaying moving north for as long as you can(y)

Did you get the pics of the gorges du Verdon?

Hi Phil,

No they weren’t your neighbours, they have a Hymer and we’re two vans along from us.

What gets me is the arrogance of it. Because they had parked in a certain way, they expect everyone else to park in the same way, so they look at the side of a van as opposed to people.

So they like the shade, which was why they parked in that way. We wanted sun, which was why we parked the way we did.

I can understand people being unhappy, but when there are no rules as to how people park, why do they think they can dictate like she did, going on and on about how disrespectful we were, and how we had spoiled her holiday! Biggest laugh is, we are all parked the same way apart from her - if she starts again I may just point that out!

Yes, I got the photos - stunning landscape. The bike certainly came in handy!

We are staying here till Wednesday - just to annoy our neighbours ....

Gerry just tell her to Stecke deinen Van in dein Arschloch

My normal advice would be to breathe, breathe and slowly breathe again. But this time....just shoot from the hip
