I was hit on the front corner of my van. There is damage to a wheel, front bumper corner and the plastic arch trims round the wing and bumper and the inner plastic arch liner.
The third party insurers have admitted blame but don't have a repairer near me who can fit it in. Im looking for any good body shops around west Yorkshire. Bare in mind damage is to the Fiat part only.

Not West Yorkshire, but South Yorkshire so not a million miles away.
I have not had any dealings with this company so cannot vouch for them, but they are
”Fiat Professionals” according to their website. Might be worth checking if you are having difficulty finding a local repair shop. Hope this helps, and sorry to learn of your accident.

Surely the third party insurers need to get off their lazy arses, collect the vehicle and take it any body shop that can do the work (and if it’s just the fiat bits then pretty much any body shop would do).

None of their garages can cope with the size. BTW its SAGA.
Also , it seems that the body shops look at the size of the van and think that they can fit 3 cars with major damage in earning thousands, where my van is not a big earner.

Time to tell third party insurer that you are going to go via your own insurer to get the work done, as that route involves maximum expense for the third party you might find they suddenly wake up! Vans and trucks get repaired every day, they’re just being cheap!

Ive found a firm in Wakefield who do commercials, I need to find time to take it over.
Has anyone used PM Autobodies at Horbury?

Tell them you are going to use a claims management company.

They are experts at squeezing every last drop from insurance companies so they hate them. It might be worth your while doing it regardless.

I had a fairly serious 'coming together' in my Fiat-based Autosleeper a few years ago and my insurer pointed me towards D Gawthorpe ACR Ltd at Knottingley. They're commercial vehicle repairers so their premises are big enough to get a motorhome in and are close to Knottingley station should you need to use public transport once they have your vehicle. Have no problems with the quality of their work.

DMR did the restoration work on our PVC . They were very professional about the whole process keeping me informed as the work progressed. Once I had dropped the van off they gave me a lift to the station so I could get home.

You wont believe it but the 2 idiots who hit my van have been to a solicitor to try to claim whiplash off me. They have told the solicitors a load of lies. Considering that their own insurers have accepted blame and the fact I have dashcam footage and 2 witnesses I really cannot believe they are so stupid! Obviously the solicitors are acting on a no win no fee basis otherwise they wouldn't have gone there. I hope they get charged for legal fees for telling porkies.
My insurance co is replying to them and believes that they will drop the case like a hot potato once they know the truth.

Can’t understand why a no win no fee solicitor would take on the case unless they thought they had a chance of winning.

A lot of these type of claims are down to insurance agencies pushing accident victims to claim for compensation. I would expect that if thier claim is small the insurance would probably just pay out. They would also be covered by thier own ( drivers) insurance so a passenger can claim off his .
Years ago I had a small bump ,lady puled out of a parked position waving goodbye to her sister.
Not much damage, hardly a bump but £400 worth, but I had to go through the insurance as after she said she would settle directly outside the insurance ,she renaged.. I had calls to claim for whiplash for myself ,could have a full medical at no cost to me ,could hire a car and charge to thier insurance.I had lots of calls.
It was hardly a nudge .

There are new laws which mean a claim for whiplash has to be replied to within a certain time limit. If the time expires the claimant gets a win by default. Other than that they have zero chance of winning.

Personally I class their attempt to claim as fraud.
