That’s strange I’ve been looking at the traffic cams for the M5 and A30 occasionally today and every time the roads have been empty!

Well I am really pleased I’m away, in Norfolk. Just been sitting outside in rather dull but warm weather at one of our regular spots. No traffic jams or heavy traffic. Site booked for Monday and Tuesday and again Friday and Saturday, bring it on.

Like another poster in this thread I have checked the main motorways several times today and all was flowing fine.

To be honest I didn't look that close, but even so, if it's over 3500kg it's still iffy

Many years ago news reported the A74 was blcked with snow and showed pictires of stranded vehicles. Husband at the time was really upset, his kids were in Scotland and he was meant to be seeing them for christmas, i was visiting my family. Watched the footage for a bit and said i don't know where that is, but we don't go anywhere near it. set off the next day as planned, a bit of snow on the verges and that was it.
Fake news has been about for a long time, that was about 40 years ago. Jst worried too many people are waiting till tomorrow like us.

You get it every school holiday, it’s no different. We are lucky, as I can usually leave at three and get past the M25 before rush hour. It’s one reason I prefer the MH to caravan, as you can make better time, and if you are leaving for the southwest at the beginning of May half term, every second counts!

Traffic heavy on the A6 yesterday, mainly French and Belgian caravans and overloaded cars on their way to the med.
We are going through Lyon this morning, hoping traffic will be lighter on a Sunday.

It’s legal upto 7.5tonne. What is worrying is that some people are driving motorhomes around and don’t know the law.
