Ideally, want to downstream movies and programs to Amazon Firestick from my smart TV, take it with me on camping trips and play it through a normal TV. Possible. TV allows 12v
Pleased to know something is working in Spain.
Cheers

AFAIK you cannot download to the Fire Stick. You have to either stream straight to the TV Stick or download to a Fire Tablet and then mirror from there. Other than that you can download to an iPad or similar, then connect to TV via HDMI input.

I had the "wrong end of the stick" so to speak. Appreciate your help.

If both TVs have usb connections, you should be able to record to a usb stick then watch the recorded material on your travelling tv. Remember to format the stick first (format to FAT32) and record in standard definition. High definition is usually encrypted to restrict the recordings to be watch only on that tv.
I transfer recorded programmes from my Humax hard drive then watch on our motorhome 12 volt tv when we can’t get a decent tv signal.

I have a memory stick plugged ibto my avtex and just press the record button on the remote to record to stick.
The pro avtex tv has 2 tuners so you xan recird one channel and watch another.

You can download films using the fire stick, to download onto your iPad, then play them on your iPad and get them to show on your tv with “tv mirror” fire stick version.

Recording to a stick at home, which is a really good idea, and grateful to EyeGeeDee for the formatting note, as I have a Humax at home.
Installed TV at the weekend on the back of an Amazon Firestick, which worked perfectly. For Internet, if WiFi not available I will use a MiFi box. This has been in use for a year or so now.
Thank you to all the contributors on this topic. What shall we talk about now?

Do you have to be on hook up because the power lead is std 240 on firestick?

Don’t need to be on 240v. Stick plugs into HDMI and USB of TV, as long as you have a 12v tv, and usb isn’t a low power one.

Many thanks. Now, with a USB stick, how do I download or record from a smart TV at home onto the stick to take it with me. I don't think Amazon or Netflix allow it, but BBC iPlayer?
Last nut to crack

My firestick has male hdmi plug how do you use usb?
