I never understood in the few years that we have been motorhoming the dislike for sliding door vans next door???

Well last night a small German T5 parked next to our pitch and proceeded to open and slam every door countless times until gone midnight and started again at 5  :mad:
Time to move today ASAP.
Rant over

It does seem as tho they have to open & close doors as much as poss, specially the sliding door!

You could really get out and remove the door on some of them ..

Swooshbang Swooshbang Swooshbang Swooshbang Swooshbang Swooshbang Swooshbang Swooshbang Swooshbang Swooshbang Swooshbang Swooshbang Swooshbang Swooshbang Swooshbang Swooshbang Swooshbang Swooshbang Swooshbang Swooshbang Swooshbang Swooshbang Swooshbang Swooshbang Swooshbang Swooshbang Swooshbang Swooshbang Swooshbang Swooshbang Swooshbang Swooshbang Swooshbang Swooshbang Swooshbang Swooshbang Swooshbang Swooshbang Swooshbang Swooshbang Swooshbang Swooshbang Swooshbang Swooshbang Swooshbang Swooshbang Swooshbang Swooshbang Swooshbang Swooshbang Swooshbang Swooshbang Swooshbang Swooshbang Swooshbang Swooshbang Swooshbang Swooshbang Swooshbang Swooshbang Swooshbang Swooshbang Swooshbang Swooshbang Swooshbang Swooshbang Swooshbang Swooshbang Swooshbang Swooshbang Swooshbang Swooshbang Swooshbang Swooshbang Swooshbang Swooshbang Swooshbang Swooshbang Swooshbang Swooshbang Swooshbang Swooshbang Swooshbang Swooshbang Swooshbang Swooshbang Swooshbang Swooshbang Swooshbang Swooshbang Swooshbang Swooshbang Swooshbang Swooshbang Swooshbang Swooshbang Swooshbang

:)

Our hearts sink if one of them pulls up next to us.

Mind you the SOG Toilet that has not had a filter change since it was installed also takes some beating. I think they do it on purpose to make sure they don't get a Swooshbang parking next to them.

It is these little tips that we pickup on our travels that we use to ensure NO REPEATS and make others aware.
Thanking you.

Sorry, but I'm a swooshbanger. The door alignment isn't great, so from the inside you really need to wang-it to get it to seal (from outside you can be more gentle because you can lean on it).

However, if it's late or early, we use the cab door. And if we're in and out a lot, we just don't close it. We know it's noisy. Apologies.

That’s exactly how I use mine, always showing consideration to those around me.

I had a Hartal hinged door on my first coachbuilt motorhome and despite several attempts to fix it, it would not close sufficiently for the central locking to operate and I made more noise slamming that door than I ever have with my sliding door.

Sounds like the people in the OP were just being ignorant, slamming doors up to midnight and as early as 5am. My consideration would have ended right there

 :pop: Here we go again. :h:
In the real world ;) you would think no one would park next to us folk with sliding doors.
But unfortunately it doesn't work like that, :D they either put us in the shade, or even worse chain smoke.
Most of the time we can just move, if we let it annoy us, but that's not very often, ;) but that can be more difficult if you " have a pitch " Bob.

Our habitat door (on an A class) needs a good bang to shut properly but we do try to be considerate to ensure it’s not annoying - nothing as bad as a sliding door tho.

Why can’t the converters put electric side doors on, they are very quiet

And, of course, none of the coachbuilt motorhomes have (what seems like) a hundred locker doors which each need to be operated throughout the evening with a good slam :D

I find that if I have to stay up late due to noisy neighbours I am forced to start the onboard gennie to provide lecky :)

I’ll take it all over People Who Play Music. I loathe music outside. You want music, fine, but why do I have to have it, too? I hope your children are learning that it’s fine to make everyone listen, and reciprocate when they are teens.

We are very considerate with our (new) PVC door....but the 98db Lidl genny is not going down too well :D

Think if you require silence then camp sites are the wrong place to visit,,try a monestry or cemetery instead,BUSBY:LOL::LOL::LOL:

It isn't music, just noise, they couldn't name anything they have listened too more than two minutes before.

I don’t mind noise, just music. I’m happy with kids playing and people generally living and socialising outside. Although I did draw the line at the 5 people having a blazing and drunken row outside their tent at 5am last summer. (I think it was their kids driving around in go karts over everyone’s pitches, too). I find generally avoiding any site advertising ‘entertainment’ or ‘activities’ is helpful in this regard. My cousins enjoy this sort of site, and often choose them. At least I know where not to go back to! Their kids are older, so we camp with them much less than we used to, because my little girl is still very much a child and needs other children to play with, not teens who are welded to their phones.

Wonder why it made a difference them being German?
...because a T5 is a VW, and is German .
Because it indicates the van was 'continental' suggesting the door was on the wrong side... making the disturbance worsererer ;)

Expense?
Weight?
The noise shutting doors, lockers etc doesn't disturb the shutteree

Couldn't agree more, but can we include anyone who watches TV loud enough to hear outside as well please? Especially those lovely tuggers who watch it in the awning.

For teenagers, Bluetooth headphones make a lovely present. Mine have them ;)

Maybe also people who have dogs, deaf people who talk loud, people who dare to walk over a couple of inches of your pitch, people who arrive late or leave too early or..................

What do you mean the wrong side its where ours is!!!!

None of that worries me (although I do think it’s bad manners to walk right through someone’s pitch.) I don’t even mind noise late at night, being a night owl. Just the ‘thump thump thump thump’ of a stereo for hours on end. Even telly is better, at least it varies a bit.
