So bored was I that this morning, that I decided to clean the van's roof as a precursor to cleaning the whole thing. Whilst up on the roof, I noticed that there was a number of screws holding on awning, solar panel and tv aerial where the Sikaflex dropped into the screw head, had come loose or was missing.
I'd better get some sealant and reseal these screws.
As I'm stranded here in France and will be for the next few months, I would like to get some sent to me. I wondered if Sikaflex or Puraflex is available in France where I could order some? I have an Amazon account and mostly, where I try and order, they won't deliver to my French account. I'm reluctant to open a French Amazon account but I suppose it may be an option if they have Sikaflex etc.

I've sourced it from Amazon France. Joined it on a month's free trial. Get Prime delivery and its was €19.00 so cheaper than Amazon UK which had it at £23.00 plus postage.

Ingwe OOPS .... I hope you won't have any problem receiving it as .... Amazon France is under the justice's eye at the moment and has been shut for 5 days I understand... could be more if they don't change attitude towards their employees'safety

Edit : I made a search for you and here are the different results I got

Is it actually adhesive or non-setting mastic you're after?

I had an email from the Directeur général of Amazon.fr in the last hour saying that they will continue to supply everything on their web site, but using distribution centres outside France (and their independent vendors, which aren't affected).

They claim they have taken every precaution for their employees and are appealing the decision.

FYI (as the kids say).

I see that Toolstation have branches in France and free delivery over €20, thats if they are fully operational.
Worth a note maybe..(y) Cant see Puraflex listed though :(

Thanks Yodeli, I saw this in the Journal du Centre. I'm not sure when the delivery will take place. Not that bothered for early delivery. I'd rather that the Amazon workers get their health prioritised over customers' delivery. I wish there was a realistic alternative to Amazon. I resisted using them for years preferring to use proper shops with sales staff and customer service but their numbers diminished rapidly leaving little alternative.

It's the stuff that they stick over fixing screws and aluminium blanking plates etc. On areas like the plates where the awning has been fixed, the screw heads have been covered with something that feels hard and hasn't discoloured (much).

If it is just the screw heads you want to seal over I would use silicon then if you ever need to get the screws out it will be possible, no chance with Sika. They probably had silicon in them anyway.

I'm guessing that it'll be mastic as if adhesive you'd struggle to remove screws, etc but others may know better.

Lenny HB and Gellyneck- I'm not sure whether it's silicone or Sikaflex but whatever it is, it's really hard and sticks like the proverbial to the blanket! Anyway, the Sikaflex has been ordered now. What silicon should I use if I want to ever get the screws out again?

Have you registered your French address with Amazon UK? You can have more than one address and in different countries.

Yes; but after going through the whole ordering process I got the message that it couldn't be delivered to the French address. Somethings can and somethings can't.

I've about 1/4 of a tube remaining of a recently used Sikaflex 512 which I would be very happy to send you by Colissimo if it would be of help. Plenty there for lots of spot fixing. I can cut off the excess tubing to fit it in a Jiffy Bag. I'm expecting the La Poste factrice to come by tomorrow and she'll be happy to take it - a normal procedure here.

If this would help, PM me with a delivery address. No charge - we're all in this together(y);)

Pete5996-that is very generous of you and I'm really grateful for the offer. As I've already ordered a tube, you may as well hang onto the one you've got.
I really appreciate the thought though. And yes, we are all in this together and will come through it especially with such community spirit!??

No problem but as Yodeli mentioned earlier, Amazon FR is a bit iffy for despatch at present. I suspect that if it's not coming from their warehouse you might be OK. If you don't get a despatch email in a day or so, come back to me and I'll get it off to you(y)
