I'm nearing the completion of my van conversion and I have 2 issues that I would appreciate members' suggestions on.
First is, what is the best sealer to use on the joint between my pvc wall cladding and the pvc shower tray. I have used sanitary silicon but I have found that with the both pvc surfaces being so smooth the cured silicon easily peels right off; I wouldn't like to risk having a shower in our shower room yet and compromise the ply floor underneath plus create a rusting issue. I have experimented with a Parabond sealer/adhesive on two pieces of pvc I butt joined and the adhesion is much better but still the joint can be pulled apart. Could any member recommend a better sealer/adhesive please? Should I sand the area where I apply the sealer in order to create a better 'key'?
Second one, how does one fit an odor blocker on a shower outlet? My outlet(25 mm) exits the tray straight down and the run to the waste water tank is quite short. Odour blockers I fitted to my sink and wash-hand basin have to be in a vertical position in order to function; I can't achieve this on the shower waste under the floor. Could one create a 'U' dip on the convoluted waste pipe which would remain full of grey water or would this create long-term problems?
Thanks in advance for any suggestions.
