Hi Really.. For the sceptics, I cannot remember when the electric windows last failed in my car, actually I can't remember the last car that didn't t have them. Its a very simple operation channeled operation! Yes they can be opened with out Ignition. they are part of the body function systems. Glass side windows ! Are then any other sort, my house has glass, my car has glass, My Clouliner had glass,Well thats something new, a palace has just pulled up next to us with electric windows, not that I would want them but I've not knowingly seen electric dg sliding Windows before
Im not worried about them failing Andy, just find it pretty easy to just slide mine with my hand, if they were wind up it would be different.Hi Really.. It appears these days you only have to drive around UK roads to have a tree run down the side of the van, Each time its another hour cleaning the scratch out of Plastic.
Is she home now Andy? and are we seeing you at Shrewsbury, https://www.motorhomefun.co.uk/forum/threads/shrewsbury-vintage-show-23rd-28th-june-2022.256142/my new Morelo is electric, Yes. As is everything else.
They are not one touch. So for customs and boarder control, there's a" one inch setting " with sorry mate the windows stuck "
and for the lovely people in the peage, they get the full panoramic view. "and how are you on this fine day"
Simples !!!
Nice pictures Martin, we were planning on going to Germany this trip, went to Switzerland to the Jungfrau, went up the mountain to the ‘Top of Europe’, trains and cable cars were quite full. Left Switzerland and drove into France, Jo had a crap night so did a test-positive-turned round and drove straight home. I have now tested positive as well………….there’s always next trip.I reckon JockandRita would want a fire station,

And yet again near on 3k miles and my van still looked fairly clean, a few hours driving in Belgium with some light rain and it’s filthy
Just the same last October![]()

One of the few things that annoys me about the Clou is that I have to hold my finger on the button and wait for the step to operate, As im only ever going to want it in or out I have wondered about changin the actuator.my new Morelo is electric, Yes. As is everything else.

No problem Andy, last minute is OK.Yes Martin she,s Home, Shrewsbury, the Jury is still out Sarahs still away in Sardinia (stuck at the moment but hoping)
John, as you know I had to re actuator my step, It's a little faster than before but not much But it came from the US directly
all the British ones I found were slower.
I was wondering about fittng an air one but struggling to figure out how to swjtch it as tbe current one has 3 switches .Yes Martin she,s Home, Shrewsbury, the Jury is still out Sarahs still away in Sardinia (stuck at the moment but hoping)

Really interesting thread. More intriguing with each read. That was always one of the arguments for building inside the box, I hope and trust that they have thought about it, you can strip a lot of stuff out from the inside and gain access so I don't imagine it's a big problem.
Tank access I close to impossible I believeReally interesting thread. More intriguing with each read.
I wonder how easy access would be if the tanks needed to be worked on.
I wonder what is the black, seemingly metal, thing adjacent to the tank nearest your camera in one of the photos.
I wonder the height difference between base floor and inner floor? 350mm?
How are the tanks secured?
I also wonder how soon I might afford one.![]()
Tank access I close to impossible I believecertainly for removal anyway.
The black metal frame will be to mount a belted seat taking the load down to the chassis.
The double floor height is 366 mm according to the brochure.
The tanks sit between the partitions that you see but other than that I don't think there is any additional fixings.
That depends how hard you save and whether you do the lottery or notmost likely sooner if you don't do it

I don't look at many Alkoven but I am sure the floor height will be lower in the cab area than the habitation, this also used to be the case with A class but more recently they have started to lift the cab area (dashboard seats steering etc) to make it the same height as the habitation floor but that is a lot of work =£££.
Thanks Funflair.
I've stumbled upon the Morelo Alkoven. Give or take a few differences, it is like that which I aim to create.
Floor height relative to cab floor works, whereas I was of the mind they both needed to be on the same plane. Was pondering low-loader chassis but then decided on 7.5t.
And the alcove/luton; bigger than I'd thought it should be, though I think it's bed works better than others.
I reckon I'll need to visit MEIER, to have the chassis prepared, and I also reckon they may require me to buy the Daily from them, which may open up other challenges such a registration (motor caravan) and export/import processes.
Other budgetary issues too but, as the old adage goes; if something's worth doing....
I'd buy a Mercedes 814 box van and start from there.I don't look at many Alkoven but I am sure the floor height will be lower in the cab area than the habitation, this also used to be the case with A class but more recently they have started to lift the cab area (dashboard seats steering etc) to make it the same height as the habitation floor but that is a lot of work =£££.
If you want to build a Alkoven I don't see that you would need the likes of MEIER you would simply buy a chassis cab and start from there.
