Bessacarr Hi top
Exp
I'm a newbie
Hi I've been told that you can retrofit cruise control to my 2.8 diesel Fiat Ducato Bessacarr, any advice welcomed

Had my 2.JTD and worth every penny.

Needs to be the JTD and this can retrofitted

we had a retrofit to a 2.3 not so long ago, works perfectly and integrates as though it was factory fitted. do a search on here, it was fitted by alex near peterborough

Hi I had cruise control fitted to our 2006 2.2D Peugeot last week by Dave Newell, great job, works well
Phil

Theres a place in Glasgow that does it too if you are north of the border.

Slightly off topic, but wish that a proper speed limiters could be retro fitted.
Not the pathetic apology from the factory

Sorry but it can be done pre JTD but had to look up as mine was a long time ago, worth a call if this is what you have

Another happy customer for whomever dave newell lvs has fitted cruise control. An excellent job and made driving the motorhome so much better (funny, though, I hardly use it on the car!). I was surprised to realise it even be done but so glad it could.

Fitted one myself yesterday (the one from NCS systems), to a 2.3 Ducato, pretty straightforward.

Another vote for Dave Newell, he fitted mine 5 years ago and I wouldn’t be without it and the best part you get a Funsters Discount.

Get a system fitted that also has a limiter. It helps a lot, and I use it more than the cruise to be honest.

I find the limiter a pain in the butt, never use it now. When I used it driving through a town, when I pulled out onto the bypass went into panic mode when I put my foot down, thought the engine had died. Prefer to use the cruise in towns the Fiat one works down to 30 kmh.

I use mine a lot in France for the 80km speed limits. I was using the cruise but every time you come to a bend, turning, village etc I slow that turns off the cruise. If I use the limiter then I’m still driving the vehicle but only to a max of 80kmh. If I want to over take just hold acc pedal it over rides cruise until I release it. Maybe yours is a different system. I’ve also got two memory presets which I can program for things like village speed limits

Hi, thanks for the info on the cruise control, my m/h is 2006 JTD, i am about 40 miles from Peterborough so would ask Alex if he could help, but don't know if he is a member or where i can get in touch

I fitted a retro cruise control system which has a user settable speed limiter and 2 user settable cruise speeds as well as the normal cruise control to our van.

Dead easy to fit and not big money.

Great thread & timely.
I know a 56 plate 5 speed manual gearbox Peugeot Boxer than needs Cruise Control/Limit functions added :)
Early days but a combined sightseeing/MH upgrade trip is one idea. :)
DIY is another. :?

Great to hear that it's easy to fit (klaatu says this too). The ncs-systems web site says that "This unit comes pre-programed for your specific vehicle " so no need to set up anything (apart from the parts fitting and wiring)?

Thanks

I didn’t have to do any setting up, just had to make a hole for the control arm (where the Fiat one would go) and splice into two wires, the other connections were via pre-fitted plugs. Works very well.
