There must be a way of removing a new xzent F270 unit from an autotrail v line? I’ve spent ages trying to work it out and can’t find anything on search engines. There is no surround cover, nor slots for tools to be used. Any help please?

Google came up with this, MotorhomeFun at that. :ROFLMAO:
A trim removal tool should do it.

You may need to remove the middle vent units from either side of the centre radio mount to then get alongside the Xzent unit and then start to be able to push it forward. Youtube does have some clips of that process. Very easy to damage the retaining clips on the back of the surround to the radio unit.

Edit:
suggested removal in the first part of this video:

Thanks for reply, however this model has no surround/trim to remove. The whole unit comes with the fixed facia.

Mine just pulled out with a slight tug.

Two Xzent A-F270’s and Zenec (same company) in 21 months….can’t recommend. Now replacing with an Alpine Unit.

The Xzent F270 is only held in with 2 small plastic clips at the top of the unit. Push down on the top as far as you can and just pull it out.

I can certainly recommend it, mine's been excellent.

Why do you need to remove it?

Both mine filled with condensation in the cold, first one you could drive miles before it loaded, updating the second unit was impossible then it just completely refused to add / delete or do anything. The Zenec Unit…..nothing worked except the radio and reversing camera. 🤷‍♂️

The Dealer stopped fitting them.

Long story , but essentially as I was looking at replacing dab aerial (which is in passenger wing mirror and needs replacing due to damage) and wanted to reach back of unit

On my Ducato, which doesn’t have the same system all the wires including the aerial go from the door to a group of connections under the dash panel. So possibly your DAB aerial will do the same. You need to drop the glove box, and the bit it’s mounted in and you see all the wires mounted in clips.

If you are having problems with DAB reception, have you updated the Xzent firmware to the latest version? If not, before doing anything to the aerial I would strongly advise you to do so. There are two updates, one for the Xzent itself and one specifically for the DAB radio. Updating the latter makes a huge difference to the radio. Do check the firmware version after updating to ensure it has updates successfully

Just a quick update , I never managed to find a way of removing the xzent unit despite suggestions. I found a good deal on replacing the passenger wing mirror containing the dab aerial and replaced the damaged one, connecting the leads within the passenger door.

Glad its sorted, I did take mine out, and it is just a question of pressing down on the top bezel whilst jiggling the unit to remove it.
