My reversing camera comes through on my radio screen. So,I don’t need my rear view mirror. Anyone know how to safely remove it?

Cheers

Why bother? Mine is a handy place to tie-wrap a small GPS speedometer - easier to read than the Fiat one, especially in Km. Before that it was handy to see which cupboard door we had forgotten to lock :giggle:

If you have rear windows that can be seen through in the rear view mirror, keep it. (y)

I mounted a reversing and forward recording DVR with GPS so it gives me a permanent rear view as if it's a real mirror plus the speed plus it's recording the rear and front. One of my better investments/upgrades. They are about £100 on Amazon for a HD camera version

To remove the mirror and stalk usually turn it anticlockwise, you will be left with the mounting plate glued to the screen.

Twist 1/3rd of a turn and it’ll disengage from the base.

This is what I did in place of it:

Fitting dashcam with Remis blinds.

Thanks for the replies. I’ve no rear window and would like to replace the motor with a dual facing camera and want to remove the old mirror fixing completely. I’ve seen YouTube on using a heat gun (sparingly)
