Hi,

I am guessing there has been a discussion on this before but being a newbie I haven't found it. We collect our first MH on Saturday. We are upgrading the rear view to a dual camera. I was planning on having a rear view screen like a normal rear view mirror however to have this option I have to have an ordinary mirror fitted which will then take the screen which is held on with a couple of spring type fixings. The alternative is to have a screen mounted on the dash.

My question is, can anyone give an insight as to the pros and cons of each or is it simply personal preference. I liked the idea of just glancing to the left to see what is going on behind me whilst driving. Is it because that is what I am used to doing?

Thanks for any feedback

I have had both. Using a monitor mounted on the existing mirrror is way more intuative. I don't like dash mounted monitors but that's what we have now.

How are you fixed for room to fit a lower screen , will it get in way of other items , or obscure swept area
? See here https://www.gov.uk/government/publi.../view-to-the-front-and-windscreen-obscuration

I'm 99% sure we are ok on this front (obscuring view through windscreen). You have made me think though. If I go for a dash mounted screen should it be positioned on the LHS or RHS of the driving position? They are sending me a photo so I'll wait to see this. I just think a rear view mirror type screen has to be better?

I feel the same

Seen the photo for the position of the rear view type screen. Even more confused as it appears it might impair the drivers view.
