Pilote G740C A class

Im a Newbie
Just wondering if anybody out there has had their 140 bhp multijet Ducato remapped (Euro 6 with Adblue) (Not Tuning box)
We have a 2020 Pilote G 740C Sensation with the 9 speed Auto fitted, (Engine as above) and am thinking about a Re-Map.
Surely the 160 & 180 engines are only a re-map ??
Have already had several cars done (Still got them) and have been more than happy. Very aware of potential warantee implications, so please i already know what's involved. Just would like some real world replies if anybody has had this done, if so by whom.
Thanks
Dave.

I believe that the 160 has a different turbo and the 180 is 3ltr.

I have had my 130 remapped to 180 about 2 1/2 years ago no issues and great improvement in torgue

Thanks for that, i know the 130 definately has a different Turbo, i used to have one before we bought the Pilote.
But are you sure the new 140 engine has, as i'm not sure it has.

in short no i am not sure, i just think i had read it somewhere. i will try and find it.

Just be aware that a remap will void your warranty and any mechanical issues may not be covered

Let insurance know about an engine modification if you go ahead. I suspect there is some wriggle room not to pay up should you make a claim.

I think insurance ask for modifications when you take out a policy. I always put down tow bar as a modification! Never seems to make a difference to the cost though.

i informed my insurance company of my remap, Answer:- no issue we get this all the time , no extra cost, have noted it on your documents here..

i guess if we were talking about a high powered car or a boyracer machine then they may have a different approach.

I can confirm too, that Insurance companies will just note the re-map, they dont normally charge extra or get upset about it as long as you are not doing it for racing.
I had a Nissan Pathfinder remapped and before doing so had a long conversation with both my broker and the Insurance company and they both confirmed that they understand why people do it, fuel economy, addition torque and not so much foot down acceleration.

I guess it depends where you live.
I used Avon tuning, great service.

18O is 2.3 Lt also has diffent pistons.
The 3lt was discontinued a few years ago that was originally 160 then upped to 180.
Yep. See post #11
Was no point in me trying to amend my original post.

We are looking at a new Niesmann and after visiting actual van as in delivery van forums it appears it’s not just a bhp hype there appears to be changes to the turbo, crank and other bits, I think I’m going to order a 160? Our current van is just under 3 yeas old now and I linked a piggyback unit to it which made a massive difference, the bonus with this unit is cheap and if something does go wrong with the engine you can just take it off with no evidenc, not that anything ever has it’s been a good engine😁

Love this Guy,Aussie, scaremonger maybe, but is it worth the risk? Nah, I think I will just go down a cog or two, mind you I did get the midway engine upgrade from the start.

My VX220 is 200bhp standard. I have had it chipped at 310BHP for around 7 years and 50,000 miles. It gets driven very hard on road and track. A few years ago I did a 3000 mile tour of France and 5 trackdays all in 30+ degree heat and it is still performing excellently on 87000 miles.

In comparison I think a modest hike in power in a motorhome, which is not going to be driven hard anyway, should not be a problem. Dropping a couple of cogs and revving the nuts off it might cause more issues!
