Still dropping clangers and making it up as I go along
OK so I hope we all survived the winds of late but poor Van did not escape unscathed.

The flap on the EHU blew off before I had thought to disconnect the van and secure it. So eventually got a new box as you cannot get either a black or grey cover on its own. (I had already ordered it before Rivebankannie suggested a can of spray paint for the white or cream one for 1/3 of the price) such a clever idea.

My plan being either dismantle the new box and fit the flap onto the old box without removing(easy option or so I thought) or replace the whole thing, after all it's only 4 screws...….

But this bright spark (pun intended) forgot that the hook up would need to be rewired - no biggy (brown to the right and blue to the left and all that) ⚡?but the whole point of the post

Should I disconnect all the batteries before doing this?

If I play with electrics in the house I use the fuse box to isolate things.

Or is there an easy way of removing the broken pins and replacing them I cannot remove the flap from the new box and they appear to be some sort of silicone

Any suggestions are welcome. (I am not sure if my neighbours would appreciate the smell of bacon cooking if I get it wrong) and its the wrong time of year for fireworks

I just swapped out the whole box, not a big job. No need to disconnect the batteries as the box is only for mains.

If I’ve understood your predicament correctly, I’d offer the following comment.

Providing that you dont have an inverter wired into your MH a.c. system, your a.c. system us independent from your d.c. system (batteries) so no need to isolate anything while you fix your hook-up point.

The socket end will be the opposite of the plug end, which is what you are quoting. The safest solution is to note which wire goes where or take a photo with your phone before you dismantle it. :)

Brilliant thank you all, I am about to go and play as it's stopped raining. The phone pic is another obvious bit of advice which I would have messed about with sticky tape and labels and a picture is so simple.

By the way the next question was going to be where are the batteries.....I've not found them yet, If I'm not back in an hour I've gone bang
