Just over from France for two weeks all going well except for the extreme cold! when this evening arrived on site and and tried to fill the kettle but only had air coming from the tap. Pump runs continuously when switched on. Water is reading half full and I've opened the top of the tank and it is indeed half full..

Any ideas?

Does your pump start when you open a tap? or is the pump on all the time and the system pressurised?

Is any water leaking? We had a leak behind a panel which took me ages to find, the pump would keep kicking in intermittently, and the water took ages to get to the taps, it went on for months before I found the problem. Have a good look for any sign of water where it should be dry.

Try opening ALL the taps a bit at a time, including the shower (if fitted), alternating between hot and cold, eventually you should get a steady stream from all taps. Sometimes it can be a pain to bleed the system but I have found the above usually works.
Hope this helps,
Cheers, Dave(y)

Make sure your dump valve is closed or your wasting your time trying to bleed the air out.

Think we have traced the problem back from the pump...The tube which is in connected to the cap on the top of the tank and hangs in the water has been shaken off during our travels today, UK roads are getting worse!!

Should it be held on by a jubilee clip or something?..If so that is still in the tank!!

What type of pump? Submersible or diaphragm.

If submersible, the non-return valve at the pump might be faulty.

PS. Just seen the OP has located the problem. A jubilee clip will secure the tube, same thing happened to my Hymer.
