Amazon price drop - be quick if you want this as usually don't last long :active:
Three Mobile Pay As You Go Mobile Broadband 24 GB Data SIM (2 years) £32.30 Amazon product ASIN B01M3VJ2B2 - normally around £43 so a good saving. Shame we bought ours a few weeks ago! Would buy another but not sure how many years they are good for if not used?

I would have bought a couple of these but
1 I don’t do Amazon
2 we are at Pershore
So looks like we have missed out ?

Just bought one. Thanks. (y)

Me too.... just got a 12gb one last month and not yet opened it so not worth buying another. Mostly use one of the phones as a hotspot anyway

Didn't want to pour cold water on this but as it has been raised, these Sims are very outdated now, you can get phone contracts now with far more data than this per month for not much more than a tenner.

Plus mine stopped working in Spain after 9gb ?

Having bought dual SIM phones these are ideal for our usage working out much cheaper than a contract but may not be for others.

Um, is it better value than this, which is also 3 network?

This 25% off £25pm offer has about 6 days left.

That works out at £600 over two years so a bit more expensive for light users ?
It works out at circa £450 if you decide to run it for 2 years, you can cancel at any time with 1 month notice.

I got one to test with mifi for video streaming, so unlimited for £18.75 per month (with special offer discount) is a good deal.

Quote was for 1 month, contract unlimited.
Exactly what I’m thinking!

Here you go take a pick of these, all one month contracts , cancel anytime.

If you are only going to use 12 g in a year you only need a contract with 1 g of data which you could probably get for a fiver a month including unlimited calls.
Guess it really depends on your usage volume and profile.
Currently on unlimited mins and texts and 0 data for £5 \ month so that's £120 over 24 months. Add on £32.50 for one of the 3 mifi sims (24Gb as that's around what we use over a 2 year period when away in the motorhome) gives a total of £152.50.
Matching our usage profile against the monthly contract plans on ID mobile gives a total of £158 over 24 months so around about the same cost however we would need to change the contract 8 - 10 times during the 24 month timeframe to achieve this. Way tooooooo much hassle so not for us.

Can someone advise from experience, if I stream Sky Go TV (uk use only) is there an educated estimate as to how much data I will probably use

Streaming typically uses 0.5GB to 1GB per hour, however SkyGo being a mobile/tablet only app rather than one you can install on a SmartTV (although it is possible) uses slightly less - see their website: https://skytv.custhelp.com/app/answ...how-much-mobile-data-does-the-sky-go-app-use?

If you're a Sky Mobile customer on the right plan, you can get unlimited UK SkyGo streaming for as little as £6/mth.

But that assumes that you want a monthly contract, which I don't want or need. So 24gb for up to 2 years use works out much cheaper for me. I think it's good value. Like Wombles, I have just started one sim. But might buy another at this price. I've been using these non-contract deals for years.

Ok but if you already have a phone with a contract there is no need to have two.

I have an unlimited data sim with three at £22pm. We are heavy Internet users, use it for the home with a Mifi. Runs TV, computer, games consoles and phones no problems. It's actually faster than my neighbours conventional Internet. And I don't have to pay for a phone line I done use ??? go in store and haggle, it works ?

Similar price to us. We're paying £11.50 per month for 6 months then £23 for 18 months over a 24 month contract. Seems a good deal.

When the 2 years are up we'll see what is available as we've dumped the landline now we've got the home hub.

We were Three 12 & 24Gb sim card users for a few years, but never got more than a 3g signal anywhere. Then along came a good deal with Vodafone via The Carphone Warehouse, for 100Gb pm contract, (no restrictions) with unlimited calls and texts for £13.85pcm (after cash back).

For me, that works out at the same price as a pint of ale a week, so taking a punt on it was a no brainer for me. It worked brilliantly all over Ireland, and I have no reason to expect any differently whilst in Spain over winter. The Three sims were iffy on streaming, especially in France. :(

We had one Three sim unopened for almost 2 x years, and it worked immediately it was activated, which was outside the UK.

Cheers,

Jock. :)

Edited.........P.S. If you don't want a contract (as I didn't at the time), they are a handy way to get mobile internet. :)

Exactly what I have done (y) (y)

I've been using a Vaodafone data sim in my mifi. £25 for 15Gb 90 days. Hardly any dearer than the Three deal and don't have to keep changing Sims as you can top up at the same price.

When I had Three I don't think it was capable of playing a video abroad. It was about 3 years ago though, was brilliant to move to Plusnet (EE) after. Suddenly realised my phone had a 4G symbol ?
