Anyone use a prepaid SIM/Data card for roaming in Europe ?
if so which one and it must be able to get of Amazon or a Supermarket as we haven’t time to have one delivered.
thanks

I believe this will be delivered as quick as Amazon.

We had problems with three being turned off, so we bought a one month SIM card from orange in St Luis de Sabanillas, Spain 35gb for 20e. Does the job perfectly . We are now in Portugal now and it’s still going good.

It’s a pain is there as from Monday it will cost you £2 every 24hrs to use your roaming

Anyone use a Tesco Sim Card ?
for there roaming data
Yes, unlimited data , calls and text. £17.50 per month. It's our first month with it, but no problems. We tether other phones and notebook.
I also added a VPN, but to be honest everything we want works OK without it here in France.
Mike.

Tesco £17.50 per month SIM. Includes roaming and unlimited texts, phone calls and unlimited data with no roaming charge. They will give you 60 days approximately before they ask any questions but if you only go for 60 days and then return to UK no problem. Very easy to deal with and they explain everything. Also get club card points!

Will sort it out better when we’re back.
Ditching one of our three sims as they start charging us on Monday 😔

I have been with three for over two years, so no roaming charges, but they still switched it off after a week in Spain.

I have been with three for years and years but because they now make you renew your contract is how they get round it now

I was told that the £2 doesn't apply to phone calls and message, if data is turned off there shouldn't be a £2 charge.
Phone calls and texts won’t get you the £2 charge. But if your phone checks for emails, or you use iMessage (Apple phone) or different messenger app, or checks to see if it requires an update then you have used data. £2 please

I was away for 76 days recently no questions asked, very happy with Tesco's unlimited data sim.

Interestingly I have two phones with smart benefits and a data only sim for the WiFi unit with EE, now the phones have smart benefits and one of those benefits is free roaming, now here’s the rub, the data sim is uk only, so I am looking for a prepaid sim for 1 months use in the eu whilst I head off to Croatia for 3.5 weeks next month. I could tether the phones, which is plan B but as I have motorhome WiFi fitted I’d like a sim in it that I can use in the eu.
Anyone got a solution??

Forgot to say the data sim is for streaming tv and iPads and laptops👍

I was using around 300gb a month whilst away mostly streaming tv/netflix etc. No vpn required either for BBC or Skygo.
Wow thanks for that info.
One last question do you use that in a router ? Or a phone as I’m want to use this in our Netgear

Am somewhat confused (easily done nowadays) Its clearly states on the 3 website that all calls, tx and data incur roaming charges.

I'm using mine in my Huawei mifi device, be aware that somewhere in the small print there is a clause that these sims are only to be used in mobile devices, so if you have a home router that can use 4g you may get cut off, how they know I don't know, but I guess if your device only logs on to the same transmitter every day then that may cause an issue eventually.

Hi. I have a Smarty sim on 3 network but the instructions Smarty give to setup your phone to allow 12gb of data on roaming only apply to phones. They said I can’t use in a mini device. Is that rubbish and if so what’s a good sim deal that I can use in a mifi router on roaming. Thanks guys

The Three preloaded data sim does not have a contract with Three so they can not bill you.
I got through 12gig in about three weeks, mainly Google and sat nav.
I bought more data via Three website and it was easy.
Enjoy your trip.

That used to be the case but Ofcom stopped them doing that.

From the page you linked to.

"In addition, there’s a restriction against 4G home broadband usage on O2, Tesco Mobile and Virgin Mobile’s plans."
