I'm sure you wildlings already know but I found out you can stop overnight in several Powis car parks.
Welshpool, Brecon and Knighton spring to mind.
But there are others.

Have used car park in Welshpool, next to canal, very pleased felt safe and for a town centre fairly quiet. All credit to Powys County Council.

I think they are all the same price and terms we find it fits but agree it could get pricey.
