Can we use our motorhomes during this new lockdown..

I'm guessing not unless you can argue essential travel or health reasons.

All non essential travel and overnights away from main residence banned for residents in England (provided it is passed in the Commons, which it will be).

Non-essential travel is discouraged I believe, rather than banned.

  • From 00:01 GMT on Thursday 5 November a new national lockdown is planned for all regions of England, and will stay in force until Wednesday 2 December.
  • The current and the new restrictions are listed below.

  • From 00:01 GMT on Thursday 5 November, the following rules are planned:
  • People will be told to stay at home except for specific reasons including education, work (if it can't be done from home), exercise and recreation, medical reasons, food and other essential shopping and to provide care.
  • Households will not be allowed to mix indoors or outdoors in private gardens.
  • People will be allowed to meet one other person from another household outside in a public place.
  • Support bubbles will remain for people who live alone and households made up of single parents and children. Children will be able to move between homes if their parents are separated.

You should work at home if possible. If you have to return to your workplace your employer must make arrangements for you to work safely.

Primary and secondary schools are open, as are nurseries and childcare. If a school has coronavirus cases, local health protection teams will advise what to do.

If its your only means of transport and you wish to avoid using, or do not have any access to public transport, then providing the journey is essential under the govt guidelines I can't see why not.

Many did on the last lockdown as could be witnessed in the supermarket and other "Essential Shops" car parks.

I suppose you just have to be prepared for the nasty looks and comments of others who will assume your out having fun in your MH whilst they stuck at home.

We took ours out for a run to the supermarket during the last lockdown and will probably do so again this time. We didn't have any problems.

Just shows how rediculas some of these rules are though, my lads mate has just left for a week in Spain, on Thursday he wouldn't be able to do it, does that mean you won't catch it till Thursday?

Not in Scotlandif in tier #1 and #2
Indeed! I should have qualified the post.

However, it was Buttons who lives in the London area that asked the question and he is most definitely in England. ;)

No it means Parliament can't pass it till Wednesday, nothing ridiculous about it. At present it's just a government proposal (though certain to be passed with Labours help)

Does it say essential though ... this is an extract from a post earlier:

I think our dropping of the MH to the dealer and then collecting it will be a 'specific reason' to travel and assume they will still be working just as they have done since they were permitted to after the first lockdown started.

Seems to be one or two still looking for loopholes instead of taking the restrictions in a sensible manner and staying put as the restrictions imply.
It will be interesting to see just how it pans out. With the first lockdown fresh in our minds I can clearly remember just how empty our roads and towns were. London was a ghost town. It will of course now give the Chelsea tractors a free rein to drive their loveys to school block the roads while parking on the pavement.

or do not have any access to public transport,
Why would anyone even think of using public transport?
Not in Scotlandif in tier #1 and #2
Boris speaks for the Uk doesn't he? If he doesn't then why are we not putting the borders back up?

There are many gus who dont have an option. The London hospitals employ huge amounts of staff many of whom live outside the city. Trains and buses are their only option. Apart from not bothering to go to work, but many sick people are relying on them making it in on public transport.

Or without labours help in fact

If it's your only form of transport and the trip falls under the "essential" heading you should not be breaking the rules. Saw a motorhome using theirs for shopping in the last lockdown and they had put a notice in the window stating as such.

Not for the Covid crisis I’m afraid. He talks for 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 only 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 and 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿 Have their own system. 😷

Shows the diversity in this country though doesn't it, we don't have a bus or a train within 6 miles, I personally have not been on a bus or train in this country for at least 30 years, wouldn't want to though either to be honest.

My lad has to use public transport to get to college.

We have ours booked for a hab check on the 12th. We will be guided by the dealer. If they take suitable care, and we don't interact inappropriately with anyone I can't see that this will add to the spread and it keeps at least some of the economy going.

If the dealer cancels I'll understand that too. In which case I hope Burstner back them up regarding the warranty.

Yeah but the people who are complaining about being closed down, from somewhere like where you live, are vastly different to here where we havnt had one case, but we have to put up with it.
