Yes, thank you
Is there any where to compare the insulation properties of these different makes?
Look on Polar's website its in the name they specialise in thermal screens, ours is black on the outside and I was very wary thinking it would be like a hothouse inside in summer It was so cold on the inside it was unbelievable even in direct 30C heat. and no condensation on the inside in Autumn yet to try in winter, given current restrictions may be back to camping on the driveway

Thank you
we are total converts to external screens - our old German van had good external screens we were easily able to put on and store. The van had poppers and slide attachments. I’ve no idea what make they were. We know the benefit of them!
we have a new also very old German van for which I have made internal screens. We have looked at the different firms for external screens and each seem to have their strengths and weaknesses not least in customer service including making bespoke screens - a service we would need. It has seemed to us that a comparison of the actual thermal qualities might help us make a devision who to go with!

Polar screens have done a roaring trade in the last couple of days based on this thread. I added to their workload :)
Well that was quick. Just arrived. Now to find somewhere to go and test it out.

More than toes wet now!
We've currently got a set of Taylormade windscreen covers (long version that cover the Ducato bonnet vents) that we got a few years back from another Funster. Been happy with them however the hoop and loop fasten strips are starting to have seen better days and would guess renewal probably not a viable option. So, looks like we're in the market for a new set of covers.

First thought was let's just get a like-for-like replacement from TM but have seen a few threads, including this one, praising Polar Thermal covers. Having had a look (online) at both got a couple of questions that hopefully those in the know could assist with.(y)

Taylormade Polar Thermal

As you can see the Polar options has a "notch" at the joint between the sides and the front panels and the TM has a set of "tie-down" straps to hold the front panel down.

The questions, finally!
Do the Polar covers come with a similar "tie-down"?
If not, has anyone experienced the front lower edge lifting in strong wind (our TM ones sometimes do if not retained)?
Anyone had both and, if so, how do the compare in performance?
Also, have I read somewhere that the TM's are a bit bulkier than the Polar's?

Appreciate any advice.

No tie down on the extended flap on my Minster polar screen. Was out at the weekend, and it was quite blowy, Wasn't aware that it was flapping, but on the other hand whilst I was silly enough to be getting a last stay before lockdown I wasn't mad enough to be venturing outside in the rain that lashed down.

Edit: There is velcro to allow the cover to attach around the door mirrors. There is also a tie down point to the bottom edge of the door side covers so you can anchor those on your door handles (no attachment strap was supplied in mine), but the inside pockets for hooking over the doors inside are the main attachment and done correctly that holds the whole cover in place across your vehicle's screen. You do get an elasticated strap that would go across the top screen cover to hold the thing in place if you fold the front centre screen flap down during the day.

Just spoke to Ben to organise a template and the customer service is first class - such pleasant people to deal with.

FUNSTER in a PVC
Take a look at these shots. Mine has thin pieces that fits inside the door to hold it in place. I have remis blinds inside as well so the door piece is larger to cover the bulkier remis. You can see the the pack is around 45 inches long.

Many thanks for feedback.(y)(y)
Kinda leaning towards "better the devil you know" so looks like Taylormade again.
