Pls help, I have a gas leak

I filled up my campervan 2 cylinder Gaslow system with 25L of LPG today.
After I drove home, I could smell gas inside.
I took a look at the cylinders & could hear & feel gas leaking from the nut on the connection hose of cylinder 2.
Thinking it may simply be a bit loose, I slowly tightened the nut by 1/4 of a turn, this revealed a split in the nut.
Please could someone advise me on how I can isolate the cylinders to make them safe?
Are there one way valves on both the cylinders where the connection hose attaches & therefore can I simply detach the connection hose to stop the gas leaking?
Any urgent help would be greatly appreciated.

There should be a valve on the top of each cylinder to turn it off

Just turn the 2 top valves clockwise .this will stop the gas leaking at the nut.

Turn off both cycling ears at the valves?

You can buy a new hose on line. Don't overtighten the brass nuts. Get yourself some leak detector spray ,toolstation or screwfix.
Don't detach any hoses untill the hand wheels ( valves)on the top of the cylinders are closed

The valves on top of each cylinder were already off, but gas was still coming out of the split connection hose nut.

Is it still? If so, one of the valves is not shutting.

Just hand tighten the valves up. You can then release the hose nut ,some gas will be in there but not enough to cause a hiss or constant bubbles. If you have no leak detector spray brush on some soapy water .
Do not use any wrenches on the valves to close them.

That would be on the fill side. There is a non return valve at the inlet and another in each of the bottles. The superhigh pressure in the fill hose will leak off after a while. then fit a new hose

They look to be the older cylinders without the multivalve so possibly not with inlet shutoff valves, or if a non-return valve is present maybe it’s malfunctioning. Basildog may be able to advise?

No ,do not let the gas out ,if you are not happy with the situation take the bottle out and put it in the middlexof your back garden and let it gas off slowly
tightening the valves should stop gas leaving the bottles.

Can I still use the gas cylinders if the connection hose has been detached, I.e. use the gas but not refill the cylinders?

The system I have doesn't seam to be able to switch between the 2 cylinders apart from using the cylinder valves to do this, is that correct?

They appear to both connect to the pressure gage at the top, then feed down through a central cut-off valve to the appliances.
Is this also correct?

I am supposed to be going away for a night on Wednesday, Humm.
Can this be done safely?

Yes you can take off the refill hose and a little gas will escape briefly. Yes you can continue to use the cylinders. And yes, both cylinders feed the gauge, then into the bulkhead regulator and on towards the appliances

Once the taps are turned off there will be gas in the filling pipe it will take a while to vent leave the door to the gas locker and just get a new pipe

you need to get hold of a new hose
.most motorhome spares shops will have one.
