While on EHU is it ok to put your motorhome radio on. My thinking is it’s using the starter battery but also getting charged up at the same time. Right or wrong.

I would have thought it depends on what charger you have.... does it charge both batteries... switchable between two or just your leisure????

You may find that your "media centre" is switched to the hab battery when the ignition is off.

One of the reasons I fitted the Votronic duo solar controller, it maintains the starter battery and we now use the radio 👍

Or alternatively fit the battery master to transfer a trickle charge at night or cloudy days when the solar won't do the job.

Agree.
A Battery Master (or equivalent) would assure you of maintaining the starter battery from the habitation bank, but may not be necessary in some installations.

Yes it would be ok.
I fitted a switch to mine so I don’t have to have ignition on, I had to fit a diode to stop it back feeding into dash lights.
My solar regulator also trickles the engine battery.

You may find there's a timed cut-off for the radio so it doesn't flatten the vehicle battery. The converter may have "over-ridden" this as in ours with the media centre supplied by a permanent live from the leisure battery.

The cab radio in our, is fed from the Habitation Batteries, not the Engine Battery.

The battery on my previous van would flatten relatively quickly when the radio was on, so bought a (inexpensive) Bush radio which runs on dry cells or mains. I have put rechargeable cells in, and they have lasted several months between charge ups. Can also take it out under the awning if wanted as quiet background music.

I have a Bluetooth speaker which can play my music and any radio stations I want wherever I am in the world via my phone...
Quite often listen to my local station of Cornwall while I’m in Spain sitting outside under the awning having a beer...😁

hardly uses any data...👍🏼
