Looking for good place in Portsmouth to eat before the 2 night ferry crossing to Bilbao

We parked for the night at the Port Solent shopping place where there are a few places to eat. You have to phone first...

If you like Indian food there is a fantastic restaurant in Southsea Marina called the Bombay Bay, there is loads of parking at the marina, if you call them I am sure they would let you in to the large parking area which is blocked with a barrier, they have power there as well so I am sure they would let you plug in if you ask nicely and stay until you needed to leave. There is also the marina bar that serves basic food, if you want to do this let me know and I will sort it for you (y)

As the posts above state Port Solent is also nice, quite a few motorhomes can be seen there and a few lorries, there are a selection of restaurants including Italian, Brazilian, a Harvester and Wetherspoons.

One day we came off the ferry early morning having not had breakfast. Just round the corner is Morrison’s, full cooked breakfast, absolutely brilliant, one of the best we have had. Not sure about meal in the evening, depends on when they close, but good parking and also the time you will be there.

You can park and overnight on the Eastney promenade (the coast road at the Southsea end).
Places to eat there as well.
Paid during daytime.
Free IIRC 6pm to 8am

We always stay and eat at The Churchillian. You can also top up with water if required.

Get off at J8 and there is a huge Tesco 5 mins away. Then its 20min drive to the port

I was in Portsmouth last weekend in August.
Lots of car parks had 24hr pricing.

And the roads parallel to the promenade also have prices for up to 24hr parking,
At the time I didn't think to check for overnight parking v overnight sleeping
I did have enough nous to notice lots of motor homes using the favourable conditions ;)
