New to Motorhome, experienced caravanner 😊
We are waiting on delivery of our Burstner Nexxo 690, due in March but now delayed until May (if it’s comes then!).
My husband and I retire at the end of the month and had planned a few weeks in France in April and May.
We now have the opportunity to buy a family members Pilote 650 and use it straightaway.
The dilemma is…….do we hold out for the Burstner? Buy the Pilote and part exchange when our Burstner comes in or just keep the Pilote and forget about the Burstner?

Does anyone have experience of these makers and which would they choose/recommend?!

I do not have knowledge of these particular vans, but the first question is….does the layout of the Pilote suit you as much as the Burstner? If not,why compromise.

With the majority of new vans you will have teething problems as the quality control nowadays is rubbish…..you might be back and forth to the ddealer a few times.

I would favour buying the Pilote, assuming you trust the relative to tell you about any problems it’s had in the past or currently. And presumably it will cost less? Maybe “better the devil you know” will apply?

Just a few thoughts. Good luck.

If you cancel the burstner now will it cost you a lot of money wasted deposit etc
It is a dealer ordered Burstner, would we lose our deposit for that?

Did you sign any paperwork when paying the deposit? Is there a time limit in which the dealer has to get the van in by?

Dealer might be willing to take the Pilote from you as a part-ex. I suppose it depends on the cost to buy and what the dealer would value it at.

We have had our Burstner Harmony TD700, since new in May 2019. It's our 3rd mh, first Burstner. Currently touring in South of France, we'll made and great specification. We have slept a total of 246 nights in it and travelled 13000 miles, no problems at all. We nearly bought a Pilote 650, but it was beaten by the Burstner on spec , layout and storage.

We had a Burstener ixeo coachbuilt loved it very solid but got fed up with the french bed. Swapped for a Bavaria part of pilote group just as good well put together.
